Any thoughts on transit needs in St. Johns County?

I think St. Augustine has a large opportunity for a water taxi service. Many destinations in the town could be reached via a water taxi and a short walk. Like from downtown to the lighthouse (long-ish walk to the Alligator Farm), the airport (probably need a shuttle across the runway), the new shipyards, the winery, especially Vilano Beach.

If I recall there was one recently, but it fell through or something. I don't feel like the city marketed it correctly. There should be street signs indicating its locations and tourist pamphlets should all indicate its existence. Maybe even work with the tourist trolleys so that a ticket from them is also good for the water taxi. The ability to operate late at night would help locals and tourists alike.

I don't know if longer distance operations would be feasible (like Crescent Beach or Timucuan Reserve), but I also think Jax has the potential for more water taxi service than they have now.
