QuoteA new brewery is in the works for Jacksonville Beach, with the owners hoping to open later this year. Southern Swells Brewing is going into Beach Plaza, on Beach Boulevard just east of Penman Road in Jacksonville Beach.
Corey Adams, who's opening it with Jason Varney and a silent partner, said the brewing equipment has been ordered and is being built in North Carolina. They've submitted the application for the federal permit and expect to submit the state paperwork soon.

If all goes well, they're hoping to open in October or November.

It will be the third brewery in Jacksonville Beach, joining Engine 15 and Green Room, and the 10th in the area.

"Anytime you enter a market, you figure out if there's room for more," Adams said. "But we think there's room for five or 10 more in Jacksonville.

Good news.  Any time the brewer is a Siebel institute grad, you know it's legit.

Great news. We'll be the  Craft Brewing Capital of Florida if we keep this up.
