Moving Back to Urban Core

QuoteJacksonville Jazz Fest has moved a number of times over the years since starting in Mayport in 1981.

Now, the festival will move from the Shipyards, where it's been held for the past two years, back to the urban core, with stages set up in Hemming Park, at the intersection of Main and Adams and the Jacksonville Landing...

Sanity returns... I was sure they were gonna try and kill it for good by moving it to the equestrian center or some empty field out by the airport...  8)
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

I love the lineup this year! Snarky Puppy and Jon Batiste are both going to be huge draws!

Initially read "Snarky Puppy" as "Skinny Puppy" and was really confused.

Good to see they didn't follow the lead of Jaxtoberfest and flee to the Town Centre.  Did anybody go to that by the way?  How was it?

^ I didn't attend, but I happened to be attending an event at SJTC the same night.  It looked pretty sad/lame, because of the surroundings.  However, parking was free and easy and there seemed to be a pretty decent turnout.

So excited for the Jazz festival to return to the Core! It takes me back to the awesome performance by Trombone Shorty on the big stage at Main and Adams a few years ago. That was the last time I really enjoyed the festival. Jon Batiste and Stay Human is going to be a good time.
