New owner of Fans & Stoves building has big plans

The new developer of the Five Points building that has long housed antique store Fans & Stoves has major plans.
Jeff Morr, who closed on 1059 Park St. and 813 Lomax St. in July, is looking to get a new tenant in the building Fans & Stoves will be vacating in the fall and make improvements on the Lomax Street spaces.

Morr is in talks with three groups for the Fans & Stoves building, according to Matt Clark, broker for the building. Although he declined to say what groups were interested in the building, he said Morr is looking to fill the space with a retailer or restaurant.

Anyone have any idea who's considering moving in?

Oooh I betcha it's gonna be some hip new retailer selling stoves!...and fans!...in Five Points!...Seriously can we let the owners of the property BREATHE before we pelt this guy with annoying unanswerable queries? Not only the article states he wasn't releasing the names of potential tenants but it won't even be vacated until FALL at the earliest! I know some of you are just showing "concern" about a new biz being a "good fit" but I'm sure the owner will use due diligence in finding the right venture that would benefit the neighborhood and, duh, benefit the building he owns - just give it a little time, people.

But these nagging questions so early in the game? Tell me, did your parents fire up Marlboro Red after Marlboro Red and hit up their hip flasks on long road trips when you were kids??

For those interested.....

Fans & Stoves, the brand, is still looking for a new spot to land.

However, a handful of the longtime antique vendors who have sold at Fans & Stoves for years will be opening their own antique shop across the street, next to Birdies. Should be open in March.

They're thinking about staying open late too, to accomdate the nightlife crowd. Should be cool.

After a bit of Ash Wednesday soul searching, I feel an apology is due concerning my initial post. Although the main point I was trying to make still stands my efforts at levity in the post, looking back, comes across as more angry and mean-spirited than I intended. This I regret.

I actually thought your post was funny. My curiousity with the possibility of a retailer was more towards thinking that restaurants now anchor shopping strips in this area. The thought never occurred to me that another retailer would go in that space especially with the plans to make Lomax more walkable.
