Alvin Brown will be a fellow at Georgetown University in spring semester

Alvin Brown will revisit his four-year experience as Jacksonville's mayor when he joins Georgetown University's Institute of Politics and Public Service as a fellow in the spring.

Brown, who kept a low profile since leaving City Hall, will lead a discussion group on the topic "Successes and Struggles of a 21st Century Mayor" at the Washington D.C. university.

The announcement of the Georgetown position marks the first indication of what Brown's next move will be since leaving City Hall after losing his re-election bid to Lenny Curry.

Congratulations to Mayor Brown. It's always good to see the people who served us do well.

Hmm, yep, he served us so well that he failed to get re-elected.  This is obviously a reward for taking care of so many during his tenure as Mayor.  Too bad he didn't really take care of the average old taxpayer, he might still be Mayor then.

that's just it...he was too worried about the average old taxpayer and refused to raise tax rates.  That led to fuzzy math and some of the problems now being uncovered.

Struggles will outweigh the successes. He might as well have been a carry-over from Peyton in his last term, 8 years of darkness.
