Right Driven.  So your identity is a big mystery,  lol.

Why go further with the lying?

Not only do we know each other, We have been doing business with each other for two solid years, and photographed together.

Pretending otherwise is psychopathic.

i think there are one too many people on here that post about how MUCH they have done in Springfield, when in reality, maybe all they have left are a trail of unpaid bills and messes that have to be cleaned up.  it takes people who use their OWN money (not that borrowed/swindled from others) who invest in the area and actually own homes in the area ... not the vegabonds who are in and out 3-4 times over a two year period who have no real roots set down in the area.  those people may be here now, but in all likelihood, will be somewhere else in another 3 months.

You all but called Stephendare out.  Insinuation is everything. :-)

Doctor_K - i was actually referring to another Springfield-vegabond poster who used to post on here (not so much as of late - fortunately).  That IS interesting that you thought my original post referred to "stephendare" though.  Why would you think that post was "calling him out" specifically??

Anyway - any more news on the new DD???

Doctor_K

And besides, the fact that *some* kind of commercial entity is coming to the otherwise-neglected downtown should be enough to trump any infighting between friends, right?  Let's accentuate the positive.

Is 3rd and Main still considered the downtown "core," or does the "core" technically stop at State/Union?  I've often wondered about the context of that.

Am I just splitting hairs a little too fine at this point?

no problem Doctor_K - no harm, no foul.

Wow.

To all who have spoken up for me, I appreciate the positive words. I assure everyone "I" am simply a small parts of a few things that occur. The Baseball was a collective effort by many people. The person who most deserves thanks is Dr Herrera as he was the biggest advocate of doing it right.

Heritage Days was a spin off of the old SPAR spring home and garden tour, and I believe was the brain child of Rita Reagan and Louise DeSpain. (please note, I could be wrong) I have simply played a roll in all of the event planning. Christy Sappenfield, Louise, and others have done a lot of work, so it would be a tragedy to not talk about the work they have done and continue to do.

As far as the music booking, we originally stepped up because a good friend was trying to make things work. I told him at the time that we would give it a whirl and if at anytime he wanted to go in a different direction, no harm no foul. We are not invested, we do not get a pay check, we do it because its fun and personally I see it as beneficial for the community. Frankly, I do it because I am able to hang out with some good friends, and listen to good music.

There are a great many who do considerably more in the community than I, starting with Jack Meeks and Mack Bissett, and working on down. The Womans Club, SPAR, the Mommies Group, the Wine Society, SACARC, The Heritage Project and businesses like Shantytown, The Pearl, AA Auto, The Proton Beam Unit.

There are so many who do so much, to give any one person too much credit is to take it away from 15 others who deserve the positive words and support.

Its not what I want to do. Perhaps if I ever have a windfall I will give it a shot. In the mean time I have a career (cable puller) and a family who deserve more of my time than the full time entertainment and nightlife business would allow.

At present, alone in the restaurant universe, Boomtown also has no debts.

Apparently this "Boomtown" is a restaurant then?  Where can one go to visit it and eat?  Just curious.  Other than that, I'm ignoring the psychoness.

DTP - great post.  I think many had no idea there were so many people involved in making "the wheels go round" in Springfield.  again, great post!
