Magnolia's Pub, Murray Hill

I can't wait until it's open so I can check it out. No matter how much I want this to succeed I'm hoping the weeknight closing times will be closer to 9-10 pm instead of 2-3 am. Time will tell.
Now I really can't wait until something goes into where the old Fat Kat's was and renovates the front, it's practically falling off/rotting in place where they stuck up sheets of OSB with paint as permanent siding.

Been a while! The boards on the front were really short lived as we were adding in some amazing new window fronts and a garage front to really help clean up the restaurant front

We also repainted the front and cleaned up the parking lot in back so it isn't so trashy.

We completed gutted and updated everything in the building from the top to bottom (literally we re-laid most the cement floor after we tore it out)

I put a lot of personal touches into the place by hand creating & designing the tables, bar top, keg system and some bathrooms sinks. With the help of friends we refurbished the original ceiling in the bar area and added fresh paint and color to the walls. Our dining area will be featuring local art from the Murray Hill Arts Center. After the first month we will have a featured artists and an Art Crawl in Murray Hill!
We hope to be open within two weeks and are aiming to give everyone an enjoyable new place to eat!

After a month or so of being open we will be adding in the back awning for additional seating please feel free to stay tuned on FB www.facebook.com/magnoliaspub as I rarely go on metro Jax and can answer any questions much faster we also posted our menu and pictures on FB.

The wife and I have been there twice in as many weeks. Food was great, so much so we overlooked the terrible service the first time. Understanding its a new restaurant and all, chalk it up to inexperience.
We went back yesterday for brunch, and with even worse service than before we will not be eating here again.

So Magnolia's was sold a few months ago. Recently the name changed to "The Stout Snug on the hill". More of an Irish theme now.

I didn't even notice that the name had changed. They had a hard time getting off to a good start.

I saw the name change a few days ago. It feels like a pretty goofy name.

Service here was so bad and the food took so long on both visits it was ridiculous.  I'm not surprised in the least. 

What is surprising is it lasted as long as it did.
