Helicopter Manufacturer Coming to Jax

Jacksonville will be the manufacturing site of a newly resumed — and strangely designed — helicopter from Connecticut-based Kaman Corporation (Nasdaq: KAMN).

The K-MAX K-1200, which was off the line for a 12-year hiatus, will be built in the company's Jacksonville and Bloomfield, Connecticut, facilities. Delivery is expected in early 2017, according to a company press release.

The two customers for the new helicopters are Rotex Helicopter, of Switzerland, and Helicopter Express, of Chamblee, Georgia.

^Kaman has been in Jax for a while now! Their existing Jax and Connecticut facilities are going to add a new (resumed) product  to their assembly operations.
