Friend who is there eating.

The restaurant was bought by the same ownership group as Bistro Aix and Ovinte. Supposedly a new concept will open in the space.

If it is like either one of those two places you won't be seeing me there.

That's the rumor floating around. Owners aren't talking, but something is clearly going on.

Such a nice space..too bad the food was way under par. Ill welcome anything different..maybe finally a true local steakhouse.

Thought it was ok, nothing fantastic. I think the space itself was just too dang big for that type of establishment.

Meh, something better will move in. Their pizza's were the worst in the area, so it's no surprise. Other pizza spots offer much more flavor for the buck. The space deserves a better / nicer restaurant.

Just went by there while delivering the mail. Sign in the window states Pele is closed for repair, remodel, maintenance.

Sorry for the owners, but I saw this coming the day they opened...

Another upscale option would be nice.  One can only go to Orsay/13 Gypsies/Bistro Aix so many times.

Their happy hour was great and they have a good beer selection but the food was always hit or miss and the price didn't seem to match the quality. Last time I was there for brunch and my girlfriend ordered Eggs Benedict, they failed to properly poach the eggs twice.

I haven't tried Ovinte yet but Bistro Aix has always been good so I'm looking forward to the change.

Went there for lunch on Saturday. Our waiter said the original investor backed out, another investor came forward and then backed out. Nothing is currently in the works for this place.

....and any number of other venues.Compounded by relative "Hassle Factor/Parking"

Recently I was at The Brick with a customer for lunch. I have been patronizing the corner since Partners. At the lunch meeting attentive manager singled me out: "Don't Be A Stranger!"
I replied that what I do is,make two, maybe three Park Search passes,I will not park in the neighborhoods,as a matter of respect, honor. And on the final pass-shucks,just go home to plenty of good food and drink and nice setting, toss $75 cash in a jar.(Management nods affirmatively)
This can evolve to actually looking forward to jar deposit- it adds up quickly, and funds all sorts of outstanding venue alternative.

I so looked forward to Pele true wood fire ,but after four visits, something sputters. Perhaps it's the images of former Pharmacy Braces,Tire Store and current insipid attempts at sidewalk seating?

Cool story.
