Since when is a red light district a cool place? You have a warped view of what constitutes "cool."

Lol, don't be such a prude.  It's just a fun list of interesting places in Jacksonville's history that don't exist anymore.

I took this article around to a few old timers I am familiar with.

Recognition was highest with Embers.

Many knew of the brothel district when they were kids, but they weren't allowed in the area.

No one knew McCoy's Creek was a park at one time.

As far as horse, car or dog racing, they only knew about the closed track on McDuff. One guy said he went out to some car race track near Oceanway back in the 50's.

The rest were unknown.
