It sounds like a scene from a reality TV show. But this was just plain old reality!

A birthday party in Anchorage gone bad, starring Sarah Palin and her family.

It happened last Saturday night in South Anchorage.

THE DETAILS:

Blogger Amanda Coyne says it started when Palin's son, Track, "stumbles out of a stretch Hummer, and immediately spots an ex-boyfriend of Willow's. Track isn't happy with this guy, the story goes. There's words, and more."

Coyne writes that it escalates:

"At this point, he's up against nearly the whole Palin tribe: Palin women screaming. Palin men thumping their chests. Word is that Bristol has a particularly strong right hook, which she employed repeatedly."

According to New York's Daily News:

The owner of the house, Chris Olds, got involved and claimed he was struck by Bristol Palin several times.

Note: Bristol is no stranger to fights. Remember back in 2011 she got into a verbal brouhaha at the Saddle Ranch Restaurant in Hollywood. Cameras were rolling then for her Life's a Tripp reality show.

But back to Saturday.

At one point, Sarah herself is said to have screamed,



"Don't you know who I am!?"

As people were leaving, Coyne says:



"Track was seen on the street, shirtless, flipping people off, with Sarah right behind him, and Todd somewhere in the foreground, tending to his bloody nose."

Eric Thompson, who was at the party, told Good Morning America on Friday,

"It was just like we were on a Jerry Springer episode."

Palin hasn't commented. The Anchorage Police Department confirmed that members of the family were there. No arrests were made.

The guy who went on ABC News and said "it looked like the Jerry Springer Show" was terminated from his employer for speaking to the press about the event.

Eric Thompson, who also gave his account to Alaskan political blogger Amanda Coyne, was fired today for talking to the media.Entertainment Tonight producer Elizabeth Applegate tweeted that she'd spoken to Townsend this morning, who confirmed that he'd been fired specifically for talking to ABC. Weirdly enough, Political Gates reported that Thompson's former employers, McKenna Brothers Paving, were the hosts of the party where the brawl took place.

Another Side Of The Story Emerges For The Sarah Palin Family Brawl

By now, just about the whole world has heard about the Sarah Palin family brawl at a birthday party last week. The stories vary little in the details, while the level of ridicule poked at the famous family varies with the publication. But like most stories, there's usually another side.The Palin family side is now beginning to emerge. And it's a pretty different picture than the one sprawled all over the media.

While there has been no comment as of yet from anyone in Sarah Palin's family, "a source close to the Palin family" has spoken with Real Clear Politics, because he "wanted to provide their version of the events in question." Some of the details are common to both versions of the events, but several key points diverge significantly from the media narrative.

There was a big shin-dig at somebody's house in Anchorage, and it was a birthday party. On this point, all versions agree. The hosts were Matt and Marc McKenna, according to the NY Times, and they were celebrating their birthday. Todd Palin was celebrating the big 5-0 as well. There was live music and dancing, and several members of the Palin family were present. Also in attendance were some competitive snowmobile racers, besides Marc McKenna and Todd Palin.

Stories consistently report that there was the Palins arrived in a stretch Hummer, that there was a brawl, and that some of the Palins were involved.

Here's where the stories of the brawl start to diverge. The original Alaska bloggers' version states that Track, Sarah Palin's son, spotted an ex-boyfriend of his sister Willow, age 20, and made a bee-line to confront Conner Cleary, the former beau, and started the whole melee. One eyewitness, Eric Thompson, appeared on Good Morning America to tell what he saw, but he confessed to blogger Amanda Coyne that he did not see the part where the altercation began.

According to the source close to the Palins, that is not what happened. He said that the problem began with Cleary engaging in some unnamed "questionable behavior," after which he tried to get into the Hummer. Four men "piled on" top of Track. Seeing his son involved in a one-against-four battle, Todd Palin joined in, presumably to get the guys off of his kid. That was how he ended up being bloodied up.

Track wound up with four cracked ribs, reports the source, which is consistent with him being at the bottom of the brawl, not the top.

About the seemingly narcissistic comment by Sarah Palin, "Don't you know who I am," the source tells a different story. What she is reported to have yelled is,

"Don't you know who he is? He's a veteran!"

A Facebook friend of Sarah Palin's backs that part up in a comment on the birthday wishes to Todd Palin.
During the 2008 Presidential campaign, in which Sarah Palin ran as Vice-President, she mentioned Track's military service numerous times. Sarah had just returned home after speaking at a Houston fund-raiser for the group Mighty Oaks, which helps veterans to deal with PTSD. That event would have been fresh in her mind. She has made no secret of being proud of her veteran son. Sarah could possibly have been concerned about the fight triggering some PTSD symptoms.

The source goes on to say of Sarah, "From my understanding, she was in full 'mama grizzly' mode defending the kids."

It is unclear at what point Bristol Palin got involved, but the story goes that she clobbered someone involved in the fight with "a mean right hook." According to the source, that part was embellished as well.

She is left-handed.

The Police Department in Anchorage has confirmed that approximately 20 people were involved in the confrontation. Neither side has expressed a desire to press charges. The events of the evening are still under investigation.

The eyewitness who spoke to Good Morning America, Eric Thompson, has since been fired for his comments, according to a previous Inquisitr report. The thing is, he was employed by the McKenna Bros., owned by party hosts Matt and Marc McKenna.

An ancient Proverb says, "The first to present his case seems right, till another comes forward and questions him." It will be interesting to see what further details come out in the investigation.

Was this the drunken free-for-all with the Palin family front and center, as the media has portrayed? Or is this a case of one member of Sarah Palin's family being jumped, with the rest of the family coming to the defense of one of their own? This sounds like the altercation at the Springfield Womans Club meeting a few years back, that ended up with MJ in the middle of the fallout at Three Layers. Moving past the he said, she said stuff....umm, did a brawl actually occur and was the po po called? If so, Hahahaha.......

I don't really care one way or the other about the whole thing, it is just weird for someone to seek out attention (like they do) and then are surprised (or angry) when people might actually not like them.

When one allows the perception of themselves to vary dramatically from what has been presented for so long, situations like this occur.

It would make an interesting research paper in human psychology.

Bristol responds to the media reporting on the infamous "brawl". We heard everyone at the party spouting off, but this is the first time anyone on the other side has said anything. But the last paragraph she makes an interesting point. What if it was Chelsea Clinton that gets pushed down at a party?

Per ABC News:

Bristol Palin wrote that it all started when her group's "friend got knocked out from a cheap shot from behind" from a man who tweeted "about to get famous." It was then, according to Palin, that her 20-year-old sister [Willow Palin] said to the man's mother, "Get ahold of your son."

"But apparently the apple didn't fall too far from the tree, because his mom pushed Willow. A grown woman pushed my little sister," Bristol Palin wrote.

Bristol Palin said she had already gotten in a car, which was previously reported to be a stretch white Hummer. But, she wrote, when her sister "ran to me crying, telling me that some lady had pushed her down, I got out of the car to go talk to her. Any big sister would do this. Next to God, family is the most important thing to me."

She then wrote about what she previously described in a police statement, saying a man she did not identify, but who a police report suggested was the homeowner, Korey Klingenmeyer, "looked right" in her "eyes" and said: "Get the f*** out of here, you slut."

A witness at the party that night said Bristol punched Klingenmeyer "six times," but she denied that, saying she was "alarmed that things had gotten so bad so fast. But it got even worse when this guy started pushing me. He had his hands on me, pushing me down. That's when I swung and hit his face."

He held me down until someone got me out of the situation. That's it - that's the story. I didn't 'swing and hit him seven times with a strong right hook' as so many so-called news stories have reported. After this incident, I still had a perfect manicure on all ten of my nails. Plus - I'm left handed.

Bristol Palin asserted media bias leads to coverage of her family, but claimed there is not the same kind of coverage of Democratic family scandals:

"In the meantime, did you even hear about Vice President Joe Biden's adult son who was kicked out of the Navy for cocaine? (That's the real Vice President's kid...) So pause for a moment and consider the hysteria over our stupid 'incident', compared to our actual Vice President's son not even being able to hold on to a position in the Navy Reserve.

"I'm sure you heard the happy news that Chelsea Clinton had a baby. But did you know her father-in-law and Clinton family pal Edward Mezvinsky is a convicted felon because of committing bank, wire, and mail fraud? Of course, you didn't. Because the friends and family of the revered liberal elite are treated like delicate china. Don't handle too roughly. They are precious. They are off limits. Don't push on them too hard. In the meantime, I was pushed and held down by some guy ... and the media salivates like a dog that's just been given a bone," she wrote.

Palin said the tough coverage stems from her being a conservative woman:

"Violence against women is never okay," Palin wrote. "Even if that violence occurs against conservative women. Imagine for a second the outrage that would happen if Chelsea Clinton had gotten pushed by some guy. Had she tried to defend herself, the liberal media would've held her up as some feminist hero. But it wasn't Chelsea. It wasn't Hillary. It wasn't someone they liked or someone they agreed with. It was a conservative. And once again, the hypocrisy of the media is laid bare."

Haha. Coming from an Independent, a Palin family brawl is much more news worthy, regardless of political affiliation! However, I like how she attempted to diffuse the situation from  by shedding light on other's issues. Sounds a lot like Kobe Bryant during his 2003 Colorado rape situation....

Kobe Bryant was on the receiving end of a withering Shaq attack the other night as his former teammate trashed him as a no-good home wrecker.

Phoenix Suns center Shaquille O'Neal, who has a long-running feud with his ex-Lakers teammate, took the mic at the Village Underground Sunday and unleashed his tirade. "I'm a horse, Kobe ratted me out, that's why I'm getting divorced," Shaq rapped.

The line refers to a comment Bryant made during his 2003 rape case in which he told Colorado cops that he should have done what Shaq does: "Shaq would pay his women not to say anything."
