Jacksonville Ronald McDonald House to add 20-plus rooms

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville is looking to add more than 24 rooms to its 30-bedroom facility, a project with a price tag upwards of $8 million.

The 42,000-square-foot building at 824 Children's Way would be expanded by nearly 30,000 square feet although "the final figures are expected to be larger," a spokesperson for the charity said Monday.

Details on the expansion will be released in mid-August, and the project is expected to break ground after Labor Day.
