Seems like this is probably taking the space of the old Rush Street/Twisted Martini spot? Looks like they are planning on opening for July 4th. Anyone else have any news on it? I wish them luck. That always seemed like it's a great spot. Rush Street definitely didn't have the desired clientele to last. Twisted Martini was pretty good for the years it lasted there.

It is in the old Twisterd/Rush Street space. Will also include a farily large hookah lounge.

It's still being built out.
Layout is essentially the same as Twisted/Rush St, mostly feshening up the interior facade.

That's cool. That's always been a prime space. Hopefully they'll be able to be successful and keep it running for a good while. When you think of choices in upscale nightlife/dance clubs in Jacksonville, Suite and this would be the only the only options. Someone was telling me that there was also some rumblings about Suite not renewing their lease once it's up. That would be sad.

I guess no one has has anyone told them that hookah bars are no longer the 'it' concept. Been there, done that and there are plenty of places in town for hookah if that's your thing.

That may be true, but where can someone go to smoke hookah downtown? Hookah definitely isn't my thing, but I don't see a problem with making the place multifunctional. No one is coming in to dance at 5pm for happy hour. So serve tapas. Let people come and smoke hookah. And when the late night gets there, fall back on your main draw, which is being a dance club.

Hookahs are still pretty popular around town. But the name kind of kills me. "ultra lounges"  tend to never live up to the hype in jax.
