Just announced on Action News the water taxi will NOT be in service tomorrow.  Seems like they did not realize they needed coast guard approval on vessels first. Skipper Brown admin taking incompetence to the next level!  His reelection campaign slogan.

Hey everybody,
I've been dropping by MJ from time to time for awhile.  Just want to say I'm looking forward to this weekend, it's my first USMNT game.  I'm also looking forward to the pre-game party at Lynch's the night before.
I have a question.  My brother and I are staying at the Wyndham Riverside Friday night.  Is the water taxi to the stadium available Saturday?  Or should we drive across early to find parking?

Thanks

The water taxi ceases operations this Friday due to a contract dispute with the city. Awful timing.
Darn.  Thanks for the info.

Since there will be no water taxi. Suggest a short walk to the Landing. Stop and have a beer.  Then a short walk to one of the bars on Bay Street.  Stop and have a beer.  Then take a short walk from there to the stadium. After the game repeat in reverse order.  Will be much more fun than the water taxi anyway.

they don't close those gates at the MOSH parking lot, do they?

Just bought our tickets today and super excited! I'm trying to find information on shuttles for tomorrow and can't find information anywhere.  Cost, times, locations, etc. would be helpful.  I can only find information on Jaguar game day shuttles.  Do we seriously not have any public transit options for an event like this?

you don't think they will leave the bridge up for the fireworks tonight, do you?

Nights like this make me remember that, despite all the bureaucratic incompetence, Jacksonville really is a pretty bad ass city. Tremendous time had by all.

We biked, and that was an absolute cluster. Didn't take away from the gam tho. Nice win for the USA and an overall amazing night.

How was the traffic after the event?

pretty smooth flowing to be honest.

I think this dependended on where you parked. I was able to get out easily. I know others that took nearly 2 1/2 hours to get home to PV.

Traffic was a mess.  OK, I am partly responsible for aiming to get there around 5 - thought an hour early would be good enough.  Didn't get into the stadium until half-time.  One of the 3pm events was letting out as we were arriving, adding to the traffic.  Why JSO wasn't allowing people to exit the Mathews Expressway at Beaver, and use those spaces being vacated by the people leaving, I don't know.  Ended up over by the cement silos.  Getting out of the parking took about 45 minutes.  Traffic moved well on Talleyrand, going north.

But the half we saw was a lot of fun.  And a shout-out to the "American Outlaws" [?] in the South End Zone.  They kept the chants and clapping and all that going the entire time.  Was surprised the ribbon boards, along the club section weren't working - just small 4 boards high up in the corners, and only two of them had game info - the other two were just ads.  The 2 with game info had the game info (time and score) very small, with game video taking up the full screen.  And, damn, the new boards are huge!

All this talk of traffic is confusing to me because I arrived downtown at 6 and still got into the stadium well before the half.
