... and if there aren't enough things going on downtown on June 7, the City just announced a Fireworks Show

I think Jacksonville is so scared to be vibrant.  I wish every weekend was like this!  The fireworks will hopefully encourage people to stay downtown, go out to eat, grab drinks, etc.  The real challenge is preventing our dramatic local media from scaring everyone away due to "traffic."  Second challenge is to not block off all the streets and force people to exit downtown after an event ends.  Wouldn't it be nice to have a free trolley running a loop from the landing to the stadium area, up Adams, and back down Laura to the Landing?  It's times like this when a decent public transit system would be nice.

It doesn't have to be a free trolley, I'll paid if they just a trolley running that route.

Hey everybody,
I've been dropping by MJ from time to time for awhile.  Just want to say I'm looking forward to this weekend, it's my first USMNT game.  I'm also looking forward to the pre-game party at Lynch's the night before.
I have a question.  My brother and I are staying at the Wyndham Riverside Friday night.  Is the water taxi to the stadium available Saturday?  Or should we drive across early to find parking?

Thanks

The water taxi ceases operations this Friday due to a contract dispute with the city. Awful timing.

If it's hit 41k 4 days before the event, it should easily pass the 2012 attendance.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

50k is a realistic number. Jacksonville is getting a good reputation among US Soccer Federation. That can only be a good thing.

Wow, nice sized crowd for this game. Jacksonville, soccer fanatics!

QuoteAs of early Thursday, well over 44,000 tickets had been sold to Saturday's US Men's National Team soccer game against Nigeria at EverBank Field. When Jacksonville last hosted the Men's team in 2012, the 44,000+ attendance was considered a Southeastern record for a friendly match.
