Smartphone glass repair

Are you in need of repair for your smartphone's cracked screen?

Do you enjoy shotty work and large air bubbles that completely distorts your phone's display?

Do you want to wish you had just left your phone's screen cracked instead of having it "fixed" by someone who half asses their job? If so, make sure you check out JaxiPhone repair!

Seriously though, what are the best places to take your phone in town to replace a cracked screen? These guys told me there was a possibility of an air pocket being trapped under the screen after it was replaced and I thought it wouldn't be noticeable, but it is. Looks like someone spilled coffee on my S4's screen.

I only had to pay about 60 dollars after they gave me a discount for the faulty repair,  but at this point I'm ready to pay someone to do it right. No air bubbles. I've already contacted the shop mentioned above several times, no response.

Any suggestions for another smartphone glass repair place ?

I've been to iphone911 about half a dozen times and they have always been awesome (and cheap). I've had my phones unlocked, reprogrammed and hardware replaced. They fixed my keyboard after I poured my drink onto my macbook.

Ubreakifix at the Roosevelt mall does a great job for me, on multiple occasions.

Thanks! I've heard a few good things about ubreakifix at the Roosevelt Mall. I'll check them out.

Not sure if Iphone911 does Android phones, but I take a look at them too.

As for my experience, you can't always go by web reviews. The shop I went to appeared to be ok, but the guys are like "yeah, air bubbles happen, sorry" Kind of shocked about how dismissive they are about it, maybe they have a hatred of Android products.

Either way it's pretty disappointing work. Looked into a few DIY replacement kits off Amazon, but with my luck i'd break the screen digitizer and be out another 250 bucks.

Oh, smartphones.

I bought a replacement glass back panel online for my iPhone4 but didn't have to tool to swap it.  I thought it was the same tool I used to repair an iPod but it wasn't.

Ubreakifix did it for free, it only took them 2 mins.   For that kind of service I recommend them to everyone.

Two words. Otter Box. I would have broken my IPhone 20 times if I didn't have one.

Definitely purchasing that when my screen is repaired correctly. I was getting out of my car and forgot the phone was on my lap...BAM. Shattered screen.

I've been getting by off work-issued blackberrys for 4 years which can take a beating. You definitely need the protection with a glass enclosed smartphone.

It feels like I'm misusing the MJ forums, so I need to tie this in to a common topic:

See, if we had light rail I wouldn't have had to drive my car which would've saved my S4's screen if I was sitting on a train. There! :D

I've had good experiences with the place next to Five Guys at Beach and Hodges.

Don't forget to lock your phone prior.

You might consider selling it for parts/repair on ebay & just buying another one. I believe the S4's screen is bonded & thus would prob be an expensive repair (which might kill your margins). Every place local is gonna charge you a premium for their work like they're doing actual surgery on a human. That's just my experience with dealing local, both for repairs & for buying/selling used phones.

That being said, I've had good service from 10,000 Cell Phones. But as I mentioned, expensive repairs like the others. And whatever you do, don't try to sell your cracked phone locally at any of these places if you don't want to be ripped off. They'll give you peanuts for it. I've actually taken a few of my really nice high end phones in these places to sell & the quotes were offensively bad. Its for suckers who cant use a computer to sell a phone basically.
