Tonight, there will be a public workshop regarding food trucks in Jax Beach.  An amended ordinance will be discussed (one that as proposed would no longer restrict food trucks from operating on vacant lots, would no longer restrict more than one mobile vendor to operate on the same property and would not require a food truck to leave a premises overnight).  The meeting is open to the public and will be held at 6:30pm in the Council Chambers of Jax Beach City Hall.

Mike, Remember 2010-856 Transient vendor ban? Now Jacksonville has active legislation 2013-373.

2013-373 The legislation now creates an obligation ( Whatever the heck that means) For a property owner that is in violation. Any thoughts. Anyone.

4 hours out. Anyone going?  Has there been anything reported anywhere on 2013-373 by any news media? Go for it Jax Beach.
We are going to crush it in Jacksonville.

Odd how out of state "Food trucks/wagons" are allowed at the festivals and local food trucks are banned.

City could see trucks setting up shop as early as next Monday

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -
Several ordinances were approved Monday night at Jacksonville Beach City Hall that will allow food trucks to set up shop while hopefully not hurting existing businesses.

Robert Stewart is excited about the ruling. He just bought a food truck and lives in Ocala. He's now planning to move his truck out to Jax Beach, where he thinks business will be great.

Permits can be applied for beginning on Monday.

The legislation is still HIGHLY restrictive, but it's a foot in the door.

We'll be throwing a really cool kickoff event in early March!

In sort of related news, a really cool food truck is opening this Friday... called Fusion Food Truck.  The Chef is a highly decorated transplant from San Diego (she once served dinner to the Dahli Lama) and will be serving a really fantastic menu of Indian, Mediterranean and Thai food (she cooked the lady friend and I dinner last night and it was freaking awesome).

Excellent news. Congrats Mike and Jax Truckies!

Now Jax Beach residents and visitors have greater consumer choice.  Government should not be protecting established businesses from innovation and competition.
