Amazing video.  I love these points:

1.) that ALL buildings are important...the landmark and the bungalow
2.) that a building should reflect the time in which it is built.
3.) the politics of preservation --

BIG CHEESE 723

I have had such deep respect for Wayne Wood every since I purchased his book Jacksonville Archetctural Heritage when it was first published.  I am constantly looking at it to reference the photos and histories of the buildings within.  He, along with RAP have made marvelous contributions to the restoration of Riverside-Avondale
This video really hits home.
His mention of the old City Hall-I have recently written something about growing up in the 50's and about downtown.  I , too,  expressed my fleelings for this old favorite of mine.  Not just for its beauty, but the feeling I got when I was there.  It had a wonderful sound.  Women coming down the stairs in their high heels created an echoing click , click, click.  Ande voices resounded everywhere.  The acoustics were phenomenal.  I will always miss it.
And the other buildings and portions of buidings gone OR still standing demonstate true beauty.
Good to know we have other communities such as Springfield that are also being fought for.
