Jacksonville is filled with interesting businesses. And, like most interesting things in our city, a lot of these businesses are virtually unknown to their community. I'd like to know which companies MJC readers know about that the rest of us should know exist in our community.

The below story is about ja-ru.

"W&O is one of the world’s largest suppliers of pipe, valves, fittings engineered products, and automated-valve and data-management systems to the marine and upstream oil and gas industries."

One of the things they do is serve as a type of "AAA" to seas. If a ship breaks down they bring parts.

They are based out of Jacksonville and are owned by a company in the netherlands, PON Holdings. I think PON purchased W&O in the last five years.

PON Holdings looks like it's a fairly large investment company. You can see their holdings on the link below

Latitude 30 in Jacksonville is the flagship location for Latitude Global. Headquartered in Jacksonville they seem to have a fairly aggressive growth strategy.

The Jacksonville location opened in November 2011. In 2012 they opened two other locations:1) Latitude 40 in Pittsburgh, PA. 2) Latitude 39 in Indianapolis, IN. Their Chicago location will be opening in February of 2013.
