quick question...
Why will a new McDonalds AND Family Dollar cost less than 4 million, yet the non ADA compliant resurfacing of only a portion of US 1 is projected to cost 9 million?

AND
THANKD for keeping us all up to date on some exciting projects which are making a differences in the way we all use our spaces and places.

I for one am happy to see the Oak St. re-use in the 2200 block.
The CoRK, the breweries boomin', Goozle, Corrado's, Tres leches, !Deep Search!, all very exciting

Thanks, as always, for the work that goes into these updates

Road construction, even resurfacing, is very expensive.  On top of that, the Philips Highway project covers over five miles.

Sweet Theory Baking Co on King just opened (http://www.facebook.com/SweetRevolutionBakingCo) as well. Great stuff on here, the 5 points vacanacies appear to be filling in nicely.

It makes me sad that Downtown only has an old courthouse, McDonalds and a Family Dollar being worked on right now....

LA Fitness is open now at Atlantic & Kernan, but is still under construction on University Blvd. West and on Atlantic in Atlantic Beach.

I am still struggling with their biz model and scope and number of their buildings in Jax metro.

Personally, I hope they survive, but I have this feeling that they will be vacant in 2 years. Disposable income is still down as a percent of household income and fitness memberships are usually the first thing to go.

Bids 50% over the estimate for the courthouse.  It just never stops with that project, does it.

Where do the city estimates come from?

I was going to mention this one as well.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?
