Some observations from friends inside the city of Jax on Mayor Brown

Well, it has been a year, and we read today where the City of Jacksonville settled with the Times Union on the handling of the Public Requests lawsuit. So there goes $15,000 more dollars out of the City fund, which could have helped so many people who need it, all because of Brown's office's inability to fill public requests in a timely manner.

Nice.

Of course this is on top of the 5 million  budget accounting error from yesterday's paper.

Now there is word from inside one of the City's oldest departments:

The MOB ( Mayor's Older Buddies) was instituted by Godbold and carried through every Mayor until now.  New huge badges saying Mayor Brown's BEST which stands for Brown's Excellent Senior Team were issued. Heaven knows how much will have to be spent to remove his personal name from everything.  That's only one small thing, among many.

Further fun with new department heads:

We (Adult Services) have been like the red headed step child - moved from one place to another but no one wants us.  We just got moved under Neighborhoods with a new Director that is new to Jacksonville and to the City - recruited personally by Brown and very political.  They named Sharon Laird the next Acting Chief and she is also placed here directly by Brown.  She doesn't even know how to use a computer to even send an e-mail.
