Any updates on Laylas Reopening in San Marco?

Laylas has been closed for over a month now. I just read the article below stating "it won't be open anytime soon" but I was curious if anyone else had any information.

Jacksonville, FL â€" An early morning fire has left one San Marco restaurant closed for now, but the damage could have been worse.

Fire District Chief Andrew White says a fire crew in the area of Layla’s Mediterranean Grill in San Marco smelled smoke but couldn’t immediately identify the source.When the crew later saw smoke rising in the air they were able to respond quickly, before any official callout.

“They caught it early and made an aggressive interior attack on it to put the fire out pretty quick,” he says.
Because of the quick response, the damage was contained to a bar area inside the restaurant although there was also damage to a water pipe.At this time, the Fire Marshal believes the fire was accidental although the report may not be finalized until the end of the month.

White says there was no fire alarm in the restaurant, so the early response was lucky.Despite the localized damage he says the building will not be able to open “anytime soon”.Surrounding businesses did not sustain any damage.

A friend who knows the owners says the damage was pretty bad, so the restaurant won't be able to open for some time. Hopefully they pull through - I really like their food and hookahs, and it's one of the few places to get a drink in San Marco Square.

Exactly. Plus it has a nice atmosphere that's a bit different from the hookah spots in town, a good place to go when you want a chill night out.

Their website simply says "closed for the summer" It's the not knowing that drives me crazy.

Bumping this thread just in case there's any new news.

It's strange to have a business close due to a fire and not hear any updates at all.  They're not closed but they're not open...they're in the "in-between"

I'm told they should be back open in a little over a month. So hopefully no later than March. Looks like they've started renovations.

They put up a new sign over the weekend:
Mezze bar and grill
(I believe it was an 'e' at the end, and not an 'a')
Whatever it is (with that name, I'm guessing its the same food style), it looks to be opening soon.
