Former Mayoral Candidate Warren Lee was arrested today. Apparently he was involved in some kind of scheme to rent out foreclosed properties that were vacant and he didn't own. I'm sure more details will come out soon.

The TU has some more detail now...

QuoteThree people, including a man who ran for mayor in Jacksonville last year, were arrested Sunday on charges of grand theft after five vacant homes were illegally taken over to be lived in or rented to others, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Former mayoral candidate Warren Lanorris Lee, 46, was arrested at 7:30 p.m. on a warrant for organized fraud, grand theft and operating as a real estate broker without a license, according to the Sheriff's Office. Also arrested Sunday evening were Rhonda Petite Johnson, 52, of Tori Lane, and Cleveland Xavier Stephens, 36, of Milnor Street, both on grand theft charges, according to the Sheriff's Office.

I wonder if our friend AP Guy was involved....

Well, looks like we haven't heard the last from old Warren Lee.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Yeah, there were a lot of us on "our" side (D) that considered this guy a flake to begin with. I'm pretty happy we ended up with Brown. You gotta admit, he's doing a pretty damn good job. Hindsight being 20/20, one could only imagine what Lee would have done.

One group, PSOS, would be ecstatic - no more demolitions, eminent domain and rent 'em out!

Wonder how many more of these guys are still in power in Jacksonville? I'd start doing a screening on each and every one of them.

Tacachale

Lol, I don't think this guy could ever be described as having been "in power".

Doesn't mean they're not there. Think about it, a mayoral candidate? There was news back in january for a city council member being arrested for something similar. Something has to be going on and I bet that if they are there, there could be a good reason of why things aren't what we want them to be. Just my opinion.

Anti, you're thinking of the arrest of David Taylor, who was also a candidate in the last local election.  He's the (likely corrupt) lawyer who was running against Kimberly Daniels for City Council.

Warren Lee was never a serious player, never a power player.  He was just a random guy running for Mayor.

I doubt Hogan is out squatting and flipping houses, lol!
