Friggin awesome. Hope we get to see our A team vs. Scotland's A team.  Should be a close game, but a win for us. They are a mid tier European team.

Hotels and restaurants in Jax are going to make a lot of money that weekend with Jazz Fest and this. Quite a few people will travel from out of town for the game. Especially since its a 3 day weekend and Jazz Fest will also be going on.

Downtown should be rocking that weekend. The beaches too. This really is a great chance for our city (and downtown) to shine.

The U.S. national soccer team will face Scotland May 26 at Everbank Field, the first time since Feb. 6, 1999 that the team has played in Jacksonville and the first of three "friendly matches" in a eight-day span leading up to World Cup qualifying.
The match will be 8 p.m. and televised on NBC Sports Network. It will be the first broadcast by that network of a U.S. men's soccer match. Ticket information is not yet available.
The last time the U.S. team played in Jacksonville was an upset of then-defending European champion Germany, 3-0. The U.S. has played Scotland six times, with a record of 1-3-2. The U.S. has played Scotland on home soil twice, tying both times. The last meeting in the U.S. was a 0-0 decision in Washington D.C. in 1998.
“Jacksonville has an amazing facility and is the perfect place for us to begin our important summer schedule,” said U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann in a statement. “We are excited to bring the U.S. National Team back to a part of the country we haven’t visited in many years. It’s fantastic that we can continue to give fans in different parts of the country the chance to share in the journey.”
The game in Jacksonville comes at the end of a training camp for the U.S. team. On May 30, the U.S. will play Brazil in another friendly match at FedEx Field in Landover, Md., and on June 3 will play Canada in Toronto.
The U.S. will play Antigua and Barbuda June 8 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa in its first semifinal World Cup qualifying match. The U.S. will then travel to Guatemala to play another qualifier.
The U.S. has reached the last six World Cups. The World Cup will be 2014 in Brazil.
The match at Everbank Field has the support of Jaguars owner Shad Khan, who shares publicist Jim Woodcock with the U.S. Soccer Federation.
"Shad wants to do whatever he and the Jaguars can do in May to make sure U.S. Soccer will come back to Jacksonville in the future," Woodcock told the Times-Union.

I've been trying to find out info on how Jag ticket holders can get in early.  Have an email to our Suite coordinator, but if I can get them now, awesome!

I am ready to see our MNT, I am taking my son to this game.
The race is not always to the swift,
Nor the battle to the strong,
Nor satisfaction to the wise,
Nor riches to the smart,
Nor grace to the learned.
Sooner or later bad luck hits us all.

Also, for those who are members of the US Soccer Supports Club, tickets go on pre-sale on Feb. 27 at 10am. A one-year membership is $55, but it might be a good idea for someone who wants to buy a lot of tickets together for you and family/friends. Make your friends chip in for the membership--you keep the team scarf. :)

I think it can take up to a week for US Soccer to process a new application and email your membership number to you for ticket purchase, so this may not be the best option for those who are not members yet. Still, you can read more about at http://www.ussoccer.com/Community/USSocccer-SC.aspx.

*Adding to Spouse's post: If you are already a supporter-member of a club team, you may want to check if they offer a discount on the USSSC membership.

American Outlaws also have JAX chapter and will be offering tickets in their seating bloc.
