USA wins 1-0! First ever victory over Italy.  Hope that's a sign of things to come...

I bought my tickets last week, but my neighbor tried last night and apparently everything in the middle of the stadium is sold out.  His only options were behind the goal or in the corners.  Seems that Jax might be a good city for the national team.

I know someone in Tallahassee who bought a block of 90 tickets

That's good news, Control. I played around on Ticketmaster and it seems like some of the price ranges are either sold out or only have scattered seats left.

Ticket sales seem to be good, especially considering that the local media hasn't really promoted the event too much. I think the TU ran an article when the game was announced, but hasn't run one since the ticket sales were announced (and now open).

Only 90 tickets? And your friend calls himself a fan! :)

I'm seriously impressed by the block ticket sales that this game has had. It shows that a lot of people in north Florida have been waiting for a game like this and want to share the experience with friends, teammates, etc.

I spoke to someone at the US Soccer Federation last week and they were at over 18k.

The post about ticketmaster availability got me curious, so I did a little window shopping this AM.

Of the 8 price points, from $22 - $299 listed here www.ussoccer.com/Schedule-Tickets/2012/~/media/4C743B038D884F26935570E0431F52F0.ashx it appears 4 levels are sold out or only have single tickets left.  Sold out are $299, $99, $68, $50 - available are $199, $40, $29, $22.

Read somewhere that Jax will become a regular venue if we get 25K at the stadium.

That would be awesome!

Saw an update from Visit Jacksonville last week that said just over 20,000 tickets had been purchased and that they are now projecting over 30,000 sold by game time.  That is great, I went to a US Mens' National Team Gold Cup game in Tampa last year and they had an announced crowd of 25,000 - and that was against a Panamanian team with a lot of followers.

From ticket-master it looks like the top 5 price points are sold out, with only the $22, $29 and $40 seats left.

Im very excited but yet pissed about this particular weekend. I wanted to get a room downtown for the Jazz festival but I dont have the money right now. Im sure by May there will not be a room anywhere in the core. I believe the hotels in core have reported they are almost sold out.

The city did a pretty poor job of putting too many events into one weekend.  Memorial Day the downtown hotels fill up just from Jazzfest, then the city brought in the Jehovah's Witness Conference at the Arena for the same dates, I guess with the idea that it will help fill the outlying hotels?  And now the soccer at the stadium.  As someone who works in Jax tourism I hope all find good accommodations and have a great time.

Duvaldude8, I can probably assist, let me know if you need help closer to the date.

There is also an NCAA track qualifying meet at UNF that weekend.

Time for the city to shine.

Late goal ends U.S. Olympic hopes

QuoteJaime Alas scored in stoppage time and El Salvador ousted the United States from Olympic qualifying Monday night with a 3-3 tie.

By the way, Nashville had a crowd of less than 8,000.
