5 & Dime Theatre Group Presents 'The Eight' at CoRK!

Jacksonville's most interesting urban theatre company is mounting a production of "The Eight" at CoRK, in the exploding King Street Entertainment District.  Strictly for adults, the new show takes Christmas where it was  never ever intended to go in the funniest imaginable way.  The 5&Dime; crew has transformed the space over at CoRK Art Center into a cross between a Hee Haw set and a Swedish Black Box in advance of the show!  Rehearsals have been screamingly funny.  Don't miss this show, or the chance to hang out in the King Street District this weekend!  Join us for some backstage photos and the saucy intro to the show!

Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Safari Sam! Wow, I told him to shut up once during my WAES (Wake up Alamacani Elementary School)  show days. I was a big shot anchor and we had a method to saying the pledge. Only one of the anchors recited and the other placed his/her hand over their heart in agreement. But, Safari Sam went ahead and started saying the pledge unaware of our methodology. So, I, a dumbfounded student, who mostly followed rules (that radically changed in the 6th grade) told him to "shut up". I wasn't trying to be rude nor was I upset I just didn't know how else to say quickly "that's not how we do things around here Safari Sam". Interestingly, although we were on air our sound wasn't working that morning so the school was spared from hearing me put Mr. Sam in his place.

I did get a small talking to..."TheCat, we don't tell Adults nor our guests to shut up."
