Question of police resources...

So I was at Fast Boys wings on Roosevelt on Sunday night to watch the Bears beat up on the Vikings.  Apparently a gentleman skipped out on his tab which was approximately $50 according to the bartender.  They called JSO, which I completely agree with.  An officer showed up, got a statement from the waitress who got stiffed, and another young lady who worked there who knew the perp from grade school (small world huh).  After he got the statement, another uniform shows up with a computer that pulls up a picture of the gentleman.  Ok, awesome, positive id from the person who interacted with the perp.  As I'm leaving, two more squads pull up and head into the restaurant.  I'd like to believe they were going for the great wings.  Unfortunately I believe they were going to "back-up" the first set of officers there.  I guess I think this just might be overkill.  I do appreciate all our law enforcement do for us, I don't believe this was an effective use of their time, and I haven't lived in Jacksonville all my life (only 7 years), to know if this is common or was this an isolated incident.

Any input?

Ok got two stories that go both ways. Which is the norm I cannot say.

I saw 3 squad cars and a fire engine, take down a vinyl sign in san marco one day, why they were even involved was a mystery to me, where was code enforcement? On another occasion there was a possible breakin at the neighbors house and three squad cars shot out from nowhere within minutes and had the suspicious person questioned and the surrounding neighbors questioned to make sure everyone was good.

I have also seen scores of Cruisers show up for a minor incident. I believe a senior officer should be sending them away instead of letting them have a social hour.
can you imagine the easy diversion tactics even a stupid criminal could enjoy with this kind of Sheeple rubbernecking behavior?

During a supposed hostage situation in my neighborhood a number of years ago,I asked an officer whom was keeping me from entering my home why all the other officers were standing around down the street. She replied curtly:"Crowd Control" ::)
The only crowds were us neighbors forced to stay outdoors. (the perp escaped unnoticed BTW..and it took them 2 hours to figure this out) (oh...they tear gassed the empty house after the fact)   I'm sure Dog Walker remembers this one (2000ish)

I've seen it both ways. Time passing and no one showing up from the police to answer a call about a break-in or three squad cars to handle a domestic dispute. It makes me wonder too.

The Roosevelt Tab Skipper may have been a suspected Really Bad Guy With Record, and therefore the concerted response.

Ride with the JSO to garner how it is.
