I think the football fans in Jacksonville have to be the most loyal and patient in the country.

This is a bit dramatic.  Jets, Lions, Raiders, Browns, and Redskins/WTF have been struggling longer than Jacksonville has had a team.

While I agree that it's a goofy metric, I will say that hopefully Jets fan were able to at least dry their tears on the Yankees' 5 World Series titles or at least catch them in one of NY/NJ's 4 Stanley Cups from this time period. Ditto Lions' fans with their 4 Stanley Cup trophies and NBA Title. Ditto Cleveland with their 5 NBA Final appearances and Lebron finally bringing a title to the city. Ditto Washington DC with their recent World Series and Stanley Cup titles. Depending on where Raiders fans live,  at least they've had a solid consolation prize in 9 NBA titles between the Lakers and Warriors, 5 World Series Titles between LA and the Bay Area, and 3 Stanley Cup Championships. Even if we consider Vegas fans, they at least had the Stanley Cup finals two years back.

We don't have the big four presence of these other markets to distract us when the football shits the bend, so I do think Jacksonville at least deserves a spot at the table for longest suffering sports fans.

A good site to track who is rumored or actually interviewing with who in the NFL coaching carousel with sources named, updated daily:

Watching these real teams in the playoffs is a little depressing when you realize how far behind this franchise is.

Watching Joe Burrow and the Bengals gives me a little hope.

Interesting that in over 50 years no city hosted a Super Bowl featuring their home team and now we have it 2 years in a row.

Wonder how the NFL world will react if Byron Leftwich gets passed over by the Jags, Saints, etc. in light of today's suit by Brian Flores.

Papa33

In light of the Flores lawsuit, any change the league office calls Kahn and tells him to stop screwing around and hire Leftwich?

News Release:
Jaguars owner Shad Kahn announces the hiring of Bubba Johnson as the new head coach of the Jaguars. In his statement, Kahn said, "We are sure Bubba's two years of experience leading a Peewee Football Team will be just the fit we need to take the Jaguars to the next level."

The discrimination lawsuit will be bad enough for the NFL but the tanking allegations among other things still to come out will keep Goodell and the owners dancing for the foreseeable future...

https://www.nfl.com/news/brian-flores-addresses-allegations-lawsuit-nfl-dolphins-giants-broncos
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

^ I am thinking tanking would also amount to game fixing with respect to gambling.  I suspect that would be against the law and certainly grounds for the owner losing their franchise.  Could undermine the whole credibility of the game, especially if players joined a coach in so doing.

Trevor Lawrence and his agents must be thinking this truly is a clown show.

At this point, the Head Coach candidates should be interviewing the Jaguars management ........  this entire search has reflected the inability of OWNERSHIP to properly manage a major sports franchise.

jaxlongtimer

Wondering if Khan knows how to hire people.  Asking coaching prospects what they think of Baalke while he is in the interview room?  Are you kidding?  What kind of coach would accept this job now?

Snaketoz

It looks as if Doug Pederson has been hired as the next Jaguars coach.  Good luck!

One of the top 2 candidates from the beginning. Proven record in the NFL. Super Bowl ring! Former QB.  This has me excited again.
