What do you know.  All those sportswriters who told us in 2009 we had to draft a #15 to sell merchandise were proven right.

On another note, yesterday was the first time that I can remember feeling good about driving the field for a game-winning score.

I was truly hoping we would just let Denver score that last TD so that there was still time on the clock.  I don't think they planned it that way, but it ended up working out beautifully.

And not only was LF27 running hard on every play, but EVERYONE was finishing plays and running hard.

Minshew Mania is a real!   The team rallied behind the stache.

We are a "Thought's and Prayer's" franchise.....

Before Brees went out, the Saints were being talked about as a serious Super Bowl contender, and the best defense we've faced. An L is an L but even with the offense disappointing, with the score at 13-6 we were never out of the game. Hopefully the Minshew magic is back next week.

The stadium felt like it was full of Saints fans.

Unless we start winning, we're not going to have much fan support.

Minshew looked off all day and I'm wondering (along with a lot of the local sports media) if his groin injury might be a little bit more severe than reported - his passes weren't sharp and on a couple of throws on the run they came up short.

I think they just need to put Ramsey on IR and let the story (and his hope for a trade) die.  He's on a rookie contract, so unless the team is going to call him out for faking an injury (a really slippery slope that I hope they don't go down), he's going to get paid regardless of whether he plays or not.   Put him on IR and let's see how he likes NOT being talked about.

Why do you think 2020 will be ugly?

I'm guessing that's coming from a fan/attendance standpoint - which I would agree with - than a team talent standpoint - which I would disagree.

I will say that the team HAS to fix these gate issues and getting fans into and out of the stadium.  Now that I've been to a couple different stadiums and see how they operate, and with the hassles that occur on a regular here, I can't blame people for staying home and/or leaving the stadium in the 3rd quarter or not showing up until well after the game has started.

Standing in line for half an hour (10 min at most LY) is complete bullshit, and not getting home until 6:30 (typically a half hour after 0:00) is also complete bullshit.  I don't really know what changed from last year, but it's horrible right now.

Considering some of your previous Blake comments, I won't even ask about the roster talent disagreement.

Fair enough.

QuoteHowever, to expand on the fan experience....

We don't buy the club seats for the club...just the view and seat comfort.

Something else I've noticed after the past couple years of road games...  Are we the only stadium that puts their club seats on the most premium spot of the field?  Dallas, all the seating is more expensive, but there were no perks for tickets near mid-field.  Same with the Giants, same with the Texans, same with the Bucs.  I was just at the Charlotte game 3 rows from the field on the 45 yd line and paid less than $200 / seat, which was a good buy, but there were several in the $300 range to choose from.

Our 'club section' starts at $350ish per seat per game?  And it's a HUGE part of the image problem we have when the camera pans over the crowd and you see all the empty grey seats right in the middle of the stadium.

I still think the fundamental problem here isn't fan support, but rather stadium size relative the market.

Every single perception issue this franchise has had over the last 25 years is the direct result of building the church for Easter Sunday (Florida/Georgia).

Huge mistake to permanently remove the tarps after one successful season when ticket supply already outweighed demand for most games.

Simple supply and demand is the reason that the tickets on the secondary market are so cheap relatively the primary market.

Had the Jags built a 56,000 seat stadium in 1993, I'm fully convinced that we'd have season ticket waiting lists, PSLs, a decade-long sellout streak, a significantly better gameday experience, and the reputation as a fanbase more in line with Green Bay than Miami.

KenFSU   I beg to differ. Put a consistent winner on the field and we will see the stadium packed.  We have a losing tradition. NOT a winning tradition. That's why Minshew Magic took off. The fan base is so desperate for ANYTHING we immediately ate up Minshew. A couple more games like this past one and the magic will be gone.

The saddest part of the Ramsey debacle IMO is another lost first round draft choice. Ramsey wants out because we are not a winner. Plain and simple. Look at our last 8 to 10 first round draft picks. There you'll find all the answers you need to know.

The Stadium size thing isn't an issue now. It was when the thing was 76,000 seats. It's now around 67k, which should be doable for the market. Below 60k and you start having other issues.

If the city pitched the NFL back in 1993 that we were going to do a 56k seat stadium, no way Jacksonville gets the team.

Tacachale

The stadium size thing was never any more than an artificial issue created by the NFL through the blackout rule. With that BS gone, it's a minor perception thing that doesn't actually matter. It's the same people who act like the Rams are struggling because there are empty seats despite the fact that they're filling over 71k.

Entering the stadium is terrible. But I have been to games in Tampa recently and it is just as bad. I don't know if it's a league issue where they limit entry points. But it's not just Jacksonville.

I honestly believe the team's long term future, game day experience is tied to the stadium getting a roof. People do not want to sit in the sun for 3+ hours. They just don't. Miami did a gut job on their stadium and added at least a roof over the seating and it makes a big difference.

I believe that is correct.

Most stadiums I have seen, the club seats are sort of that middle tier of seats just below the boxes.
