The Jacksonville Jaguars

And let's be fair about it - the Eagles are a 'bigger' team than the Jaguars. As they're older and from a more well-known city, they're likely to have a larger international fanbase. So while I don't doubt that playing in London for years has grown the size of the UK Jaguars fanbase, they started from close to nothing.

Fan apathy is back to a Gus-era level. Even the Bold City Brigade is losing interest.

It is also back to being near impossible to give tickets away at work again. We have drawings to give out our seats and we cannot even get people to put their name in.

I got an email from the team that there were a limited number of seats opening up for the Pittsburgh game this weekend. And if you bought a Steelers ticket, you got a free ticket for one of the remaining games (Washington or Indy). And there is a blood drive where you get a free ticket too. So the team is back to giving tickets away too.

Well we're not a good team or franchise. Literally no "Stars" on offense. I'm not sure how you manage that but that's where we are.

And the Best defense in the NFL is actually average. You can talk injuries all you want, but we've had chances (specifically BB has had SO MANY chances to lead game winning drives ) and have not been able to get it done.

It's still a team sport, and the team ain't very good.

I have tickets to this weekends game, but also have James Conner and Antonio Brown (and Vance McDonald) on my Fantasy Team, so I'm hoping for one hell of a shootout.

Well, if this board is any indicator, you are spot on about the apathy. From winning their Superbowl against the Pats, to this. Damn, that didn't take long.

Just have to hope "Road" Rapistberger shows up Sunday and they can pull out a win.

Well living in Miami now I was always planning to go to the Jags-Dolphins game, but I may not even do that anymore. It's one thing to hope for an unlikely victory at home, an entirely different risk to be a visiting fan getting shellacked. The Cowboys game was a pretty rough ego-bruise. Fortunately there were so many Jags fans there that it really helped that misery loves company, but I'm not sure I want to live through that embarassment again even if Hard Rock stadium is overrun with teal.

Since you brought it up...

I can only deal with so much.   The team hasn't looked good.  The sniping on social media isn't going to stop.  There's just not too much to say.

That said, I do think they win this week.  After that atrocious first half by our defense, we didn't allow Indy across the 50 but once.  Should have been twice with Telvin's busted coverage into an INT gift, but who's counting.

The offense still doesn't have any playmakers, but as long as Hackett stays with the run (even though we were at a sub-3 yds/crry) and doesn't make Blake throw the ball 40 times, I think we're going to be fine.

But hey, I've found a new vice to make these games hurt even more!

The Jags are still a 6.5pt dog (-115), but at +200 I'm taking the money line.  ;D

Wow! It was 16-6 with three minutes or so when I left Springfield to head to the Southside. I got to my destination just in time to see Ben take it in for the winning touchdown. WTF happened? Anyway, 3-7? Unless someone sees a six game winning streak coming to close things out to squeeze in as a wild card, this season is pretty much shot.

This is an epic 2018 Jaguars season game.  *That had to be the worst play calling I witnessed in quite awhile.  That was awful.  All Pittsburgh has to do was stack the middle with run stoppers and stop Fournette.  With a complete loser at QB, yes that would be blockhead Bortles, they had no fear of a passing offense.  As I said early in the pre season, the Jaguars are NEVER going anywhere with Blake at the helm.  That 4th quarter looked as if the Jags were jockeying for a early pick in the draft.  Absolutely nauseating.

*I guess the play calling was because of Bortles' ineptness and the coaches' fear of him losing the game with his arm.

Hackett should be fired; How can you not pass at least once on that '3 runs up the middle' drive? One first down would've won us the game! A CLASSIC OVERLY CONSERVATIVE way to lose is exactly what we did (3 runs, then punt ball back to opponent); I've seen many many teams lose that way. I don't have any confidence in our coaching whatsoever (including the head coach).

It was painful to listed to Romo pick apart the playcalling and decision making, and he was right.

It was a pitiful performance late from the offense and the defense.

I put a lot of blame on Hackett. But the issue is bigger than that.  The top guys (Coughlin/Caldwell) paid Norwell a ton of money, and he is terrible.

And they gave Bortles a two year deal basically. So they either have to keep him next season (which will make this offseason unbearable). Or cut bait and pay him 20 million dollars to not be here.

There are going to be a lot of changes this offseason.

I bet! Being at the game during that three run debacle, the guy next to me and I agreed that we should have called a pass play on that 3rd down; I told him unfortunately I wasn't sure if our idiot of a coordinator was gonna even call a pass play, and sho nuff, he didn't. You're right though, there are gonna be alot of changes in 2019.

I thought 1010XL had spot on criticism of the game yesterday. The end of the first half was so badly executed. We were basically within reach of a field goal attempt but they managed to go backward, and at that time we were manhandling the Steelers.

And all we needed at the end was a first down or two. NOPE.

After watching last night MNF thrill fest it's hard to believe we operate in the same league as those two teams. How they can be so good and we are so bad while operating within a league designed with parity in mind is difficult to comprehend....

And no one wants to hear this, but we should have given Kaep a chance, it cannot be any worse.

You may be wrong about that MM.  For years I've said we need a QB.  I include giving Kaep a tryout.  Last year with the way our defense was playing and the team being mostly healthy, we had the chance of a lifetime to make it to the Super Bowl.  What do we have now?  The agony of another "rebuilding".  I don't put all the blame on the offensive coordinator.  He didn't draft Bortles.  He didn't keep him when they should have moved on.  He would never admit it, but he probably wishes he had Kaep too.  The Jaguars have become so boringly predictable that teams can play the run stopping defense and dare blockhead to throw.  3rd and 15 and the Jags QB sidearms a 4 yd pass behind or over the head of the receiver who is covered.  There is never going to be another chance like we had in 2017 unless they change the most critical part of the offense-QB.

I've posted this same comment in a few sports groups:

If you can find me a first-hand quote of Kaep, from a major news site, stating that he wants to play in the NFL dated within the past year, I'll buy you a Kaep Jersey.*

Not his lawyer.   Not his girlfriend.  Not Shaun King.  Not 'sources'.  Kaep.

Until he speaks, this conversation is dead.

*It's been going on since August and I still haven't had to buy a jersey.

The Jags don't have to pay him $20 million to not be here next season. He has a partial guarantee for season per OTC.
