I agree.  Bortles looked great...this week.  I hope he keeps it up.

This week?

Bortles is 8-2 with  +60% completion,  20TD/6INT and a 98.2 QBR at home (includes London) since last year.

Let it go.  He's gotten better.

But what about before last year?  Yeah, I hear ya.  But the whole team kind of stunk - ESPECIALLY the defense.

#DTWD That's my team (Jags) that's my quarterback (Bortles). Great game, and great gameday atmosphere at the Bank!

At this rate, the team will be Super Bowl contenders by the time they relocate to London. Score!

I hear you, but it's so hard to let it go.  I'm a Jags fan and I've seen Blake throw pick 6's, interceptions, and make bone-head mistakes all too often to sit back and feel confident that he can be counted on consistently.  I probably wouldn't doubt Bortles if I didn't know Bortles.  I root for him every time he plays.  I hope he will change my "prove it to me Blake" mentality.  There are many fans and non-fans of the Jags that feel the same way.

Lets see . . . 14 of 26 for 214 yards *on the road* IN THE PLAYOFFS to beat Pittsburgh and 23 of 36 for 293 yards *on the road* IN THE PLAYOFFS to nearly beat New England.

In his first full year of Nate Hackett's offense *with a very inexperienced* WR corps.

Don't act like this is some kind of a blip.

You want to hang on to those earlier memories, fine. Remain a slave to your memories. But we beat Pittsburgh because of Blake and we nearly beat New England because of Blake. The failure to beat New England, as much as the national idiots scream about sitting on the football and being scared of Blake, was because of our DEFENSE.

You're funny RG.  You tell me "Remain a slave to your memories", yet you cite yours.  Am I to only post things that agree with you?  I remember being chastised for citing negative observations of Byron Leftwich and Blaine Gabbert.  I sincerely hope I'm wrong.  Until Blake plays consistently well for the entire season, I WILL act like this is some kind of blip.

I thought stats were created for cherry picking?

I've been rooting for Blake and have been a vocal supporter of his against all the criticism he faces on a daily.

He does make some boneheaded decisions.  He doesn't throw a pretty football.  But he comes with an attitude that I would like to see so many more athletes take, and that is he's pretty open about when he plays like shit and he plays it down when he balls out.  He honestly seems to play well when he's called upon and when the gameplan is designed around ARob (2016) and Fournette (2017) he defers to those guys and does what's called.

Last week was just another game that they built the gameplan around Blake - and he responded.  That's why I think he's going to be just fine and get us where we want to be; and do it consistently.   I watched the broadcast of the game last night, and he was absolutely on fire this past Sunday.  There were only a couple of throws that weren't in the hands of the guy he was throwing to.  And that's kind of been the read on Blake this season - we've seen what he can do, but now it looks like the floor is getting raised.

Our coaches just need to continue to make Blake the focus and let the skills guys complement him rather than the other way around.

Would we have beaten the Pats is LF27 was healthy and we went run heavy again?  I'm gonna lean towards not.

So it's cherry-picking to focus on Blake and his first year in the Hackett offense? A year in which he was one pass from the Super Bowl?

Good to know but . . . that's bullshit, frankly. And it isn't relying upon a memory to cite his sterling play on the road in his first two road playoff games.

If you've watched some football over a period of years, you know that's likely not a blip. It's indicative of a gamer. You especially know that it's indicative of a gamer when you contemplate him doing it without his number one wide receiver *and* having to rely upon a very inexperienced WR corps. I believe I mentioned that earlier.

Was that cherry-picking? Okay, then. Sunshine pumping cherry-picker!

Look, y'all hang on to the faux objectivity all you want. I'm fan, I'm happy to be a fan, and happy to be subjective as hell.

Go Jaguars !!!

Watched that video at 5am today, right before going for a run. Have to admit... I did a mile more than I would have, had I not watched that.

Just an insane amount of Jags gear on the streets today, but by far my favorite scene of the day is this Danis construction worker restoring the Barnett in a Blake Bortles jersey. Made my day.

Also, love this, from San Marco Theater, via Reddit.

The whole #DTWD/Duuuval thing really is a pretty cool reflection of how far this city has come in terms of civic pride and self-worth in the last decade.

ProjectMaximus

Very cool! I know this isn't the place for this but I have no outlet to vent about this anywhere else.

Why are there so many people resistant to DTWD who write into the Ozone?? It's definitely died down tremendously, but for such a long time so many people would voice their displeasure because they didn't relate to Duval. So stupid. Do they also have an issue with calling the team the "Jacksonville" Jaguars? Arrgh so  ridiculous. /rant
