Listen people this is NFL Football. Rome wasn't built overnight? I watched the game at my favorite Blue Crab Restaurant. And was feeling pretty good at halftime. But went back to taking photos in the second half The Jacksonville Jaguars have a long way to go people but thank god this was only the first game. And for the Gator fans in the Ever Bank Stadium aka Gator Bowl. Shut up with your ugly talk about the Jaguars this isn't needed.  GO JAGUARS!

4 things...

1. The kicker obviously performed awful.

2. Blake played good early, but he threw the pick six (which can happen to anyone from time to time); What was more concerning IMO, he missed open WRs (particularly Greene in the slot).

3.  Way too many dropped WR passes  (very commonplace around here for a long time).

4. The D played a hell of a game (Poz was a beast) a game that we should have won. The defense was gassed on the last 'fourth down timeout' drive from being on the field way too long.

5.  Tight ends were not invited to participate in the offense.

You do realize that we are in historically bad win levels for what the past decade? Its not like we woke up this season and started complaining. The fans have a right to complain and demand to know what is going on. We will most likely start 0-4 again . This is the 5th yea in a  row we have lost our first game. We are in a  terrible funk, so lay off the fans. We have done our part. its time for the team and ownership to do theirs.

The Jags haven't had a winning record since George Bush was in office.

They've had plenty of time to rebuild.

The fans have done their part, and then some.

That said, I'm not hitting the panic button yet.

DYING to see how this team plays at full-health.

No need to panic.  The reality is that the Jags are and will be a sub .500 team at the end of the year. You just have to hope there's visible improvement over last year, so you at least know that things are improving. With that said, based off what I witnessed yesterday, I'm going to select whoever they or Jameis-led Tampa Bay, plays in my suicide pool for the first few weeks of the season.

We're losing more then games. Sports talk in OKC, CHICAGO and MILWAUKEE have used the team to give the entire city 'a bad joke nickname.' Meanwhile closer to home the Orlando Sentinel and the NBC TV stations led off with this:

QuoteOrlando NFL fans, rejoice: You're not stuck with the Bucs and Jags

The first Sunday of the regular season is a great day for any football fan, but fans in Orlando may be feeling particularly good this Sunday, because they're going to see some good football. For a change.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that the FOX and CBS affiliates in Orlando are turning away from treating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jacksonville Jaguars as hometown teams. Instead, Orlando viewers will be given whatever the affiliate deems the best game of the day. That means the FOX affiliate will show Packers-Bears and the CBS affiliate will show Ravens-Broncos tomorrow. The Bucs-Titans game and the Jaguars-Panthers game will be shown by the Tamp and Jacksonville affiliates, respectively, but not in Orlando.

"We try to pick the best games that the majority of people want to see and we think that's the Ravens-Broncos," the general manager of the Orlando CBS affiliate said. "You can't go wrong by showing the best game."

As noted by Joe Bucs Fan, Orlando used to be considered a secondary market for the Buccaneers and Jaguars, meaning that the Orlando affiliates would show the Bucs and Jags games each Sunday. But years of losing by those two teams has taken its toll. Orlando fans want to watch better football than the Bucs and Jags have provided.

So one of the smallest markets in the NFL is shrinking fast which will effect everything else in our future.

I have been a season ticket holder for years and I have to admit it is getting down right frustrating. I just want to see a good game for once, a little excitement. They have got to get it together.

Why? There will always be guys out, and our #1 pick will not play this year, so its going to be a long season, period.

I don't think Gus is the guy. We've had Defensive guys here, Del Rio and now Gus, our D played pretty good yesterday, only gave up 13 points, we should have won, if we had more and enough offensive weapons.

Bortles is all out of excuses, the bottom line is the Offense is as bad as it was last year.

Although that's not a good thing, it's really not too bad either. It basically means Jacksonville has a bad joke nickname with the kind of people that listen to sports talk radio. Basically a slight notch higher than the mouth breathers who tune into Rush Limbaugh or Art Bell.

I believe that even the folks as close as Palm Coast are not getting the Jags broadcast(s)....

I-10east

That 'regional broadcast blackout' sort of speak is only effects the Jags home games NOT the away games. This Orlando thing is bad timing for them, not seeing their hometown boy play at QB and all; Oh well, I won't lose any sleep...

Damn. Some of y'all can barely hide your glee and some are giving in to the frustration *way* too early.

Blake screwed up that game, he seemed to be off most of the game and the Pick-6 was an absolute killer. And, to me, it was a game we should have won.

This is a year we're going to have to endure. A healthy Dante Fowler would have made a tremendous difference in this game. So would a healthy Julius Thomas and a healthy Marqise Lee. Yes, every team has to deal with injuries but we've had to deal with far  more than our share. Gus, it seems to me, has done a damn good job all in all. Everything rides on Blake. He simply cannot throw us out of games. He can't continue with the Pick-6 tendencies. But, he needs help from his WRs and, most especially, from his tight ends until Marqise Lee can hit the field and stretch out the coverages. Soon come, that's all I can say, soon come.

All is not lost, though. T.J. Yeldon has the look of a winner and our defense seems adequate. A good result this weekend, and all is well.
