What were JPPs stats against Joeckel?....crickets.....

Bortles 8-16, 96 yards. looks like preseason. Jags did the same thing last year, won first PS game, then lost 2nd, 3rd, 4th on their way to 3-13. To break the streak, they need to show more against the Lions at home. He're hoping for a better showing in game 3.

Still hurts that we took a Defensive end, who later tore his ACL, when Oakland has Cooper and Carr making the highlight reel: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/08/22/derek-carr-and-amari-cooper-keep-making-plays/

Just don't get the feel, 2 games into preseason that the Jags can spread the field with a legitimate down the field threat. They could have had that with Cooper. Maybe the Blackmon thing still lurks......We need to see a Bortles that can score on the deep threat, we know he can throw 10-20 yards down the field. We need the deep bomb.

He had one pass, 50 yards in the air, that should have been a touchdown (although on the same play he missed the wide open TE that possibly would've gone for a TD as well)

Hurns sadly showcasing why he want undrafted. I love the guy (his first 2 career receptions were for touchdowns for godsake), but you never know what you're going to get. He'll either make a play or suddenly develop bricks for hands. It's frustrating.

Hurns is Cecil Shorts reincarnate.

johnnyliar

I think Hurns is extremely different from Shorts.
Shorts was plagued by injury, hurns is on a dropping-spree.

I didn't get to see the game (I understand there wasn't much action) and I wanted to see the NFL Network replay. The next two available times are 10:00am on Mon (when I have to go to Gville), and 1pm on Wed. Because I REALLY love seeing Denver playing Houston (and all of the other games) like eight times before they finally show a Jags replay. Bite me NFL Network!!!

Lee = Shorts. Both never can stay healthy.

QuoteVictor Cruz, Odell Beckham allege dirty play by Jaguars

Beckham

New York Giants receiver Victor Cruz took issue Tuesday with how receiver Odell Beckham was treated by the Jaguars' defensive backs last week.

In a roundabout way, Cruz, who didn't play because of injury, thought the Jaguars' defensive backs were targeting Beckham.

"I was a little unhappy last week," Cruz told New York reporters. "I felt like some of those defensive backs were kind of gunning for him and it was sad to see that go down because I couldn't help him."

That's just ridiculous. Just watch the first two plays from this game replay.

Play 1 - Brown lets up when he sees the ball isn't caught, and his shoulder hits Beckham. That's football, it happens.

Play 2 - Beckham gets all pissy and shoves Brown for no reason.

copperfiend

The only cheap shot was by Beckham himself. If the Jags DB's can get under his skin like that in one quarter of a preseason game, imagine a postseason game.

I was thinking the same thing....

If nothing else, I can only imagine that the jamming at the line is going to get worse for him.   Especially once the regular season starts.
A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

The Jaguars have traded Josh Scobee to the Steelers.  Compensation as yet undisclosed.

Some people are upset because Scobee is a nice guy and good in the community. But Myers has been just as good in camp and the preseason. And to get a draft pick for a kicker is always a good thing.

Yes, a very understandable move for that reason.  Just sad to see a good guy and the longest-tenured Jaguar go.
