Several reporters saying it is a done deal for the Jags to land Julius Thomas.  Meanwhile, Miami seems to have Suh locked up, and the Jaguars are pursuing Jared Odrick from the Dolphins.

Suh and Wake together with Brent Grimes in the secondary. I love it!

Randall Cobb re-up'd with Green Bay. There are still fish out in the sea for the Jags to get. Hopefully Justin Blackmon doesn't do anything stupid, and plays as much as possible in 2015.

Is Blackmon playing for the Jags this upcoming season?

Last I heard, they were supposed to hear yay or nay before the draft.  That being said, I'm not expecting a big contribution from a guy who has been away from the game for so long.

Wake and Suh are gonna make a nasty combo for sure.  That's a lot of money for the DL, though.  Better have a good draft to make up for the veterans who get cut!

Jaguars re-signed Alualu today.  Two years, $6 million

So one of Gene Smith's picks will stick around.

Per ESPN.com

The Jacksonville Jaguars have brought back Tyson Alualu, re-signing the defensive lineman before free agency begins Tuesday, the team announced Sunday.

Terms were not announced, but Alualu received a two-year contract, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. The deal is for $6 million, with $4.25 million fully guaranteed, a league source told ESPN's Adam Caplan.

Tyson Alualu hasn't played like a top-10 pick, but his durability and dependability are assets that kept him in a Jacksonville jersey, writes Michael DiRocco.

Alualu, 27, was the Jaguars' first-round draft pick in 2010 (10th overall) and started every game from 2010 to 2013. He was drafted as a defensive tackle and played there until moving to defensive end before the 2013 season.

Although he never became the player former Jaguars general manager Gene Smith envisioned when he was drafted, Alualu has been a solid, durable player for Jacksonville over the past five seasons.

Alualu lost his starting spot in 2014 when Red Bryant was signed last March but still had a decent season with 30 tackles, five quarterback hurries and two sacks. His numbers the past two seasons -- 74 tackles and 3.5 sacks -- are comparatively lower than what he compiled in his first three seasons (240 tackles and 9.5 sacks), but that is due to the position change. He has 314 tackles, 13 sacks and 19 tackles for loss in his career.

Jaguars general manager David Caldwell said at the team's end-of-season news conference that he wanted to re-sign Alualu.

I'll be pretty shocked if the worst case scenario for Blackmon (if he doesn't do anything stupid) is harsher than him coming back for 2015, but receiving a four game suspension.

The Julius Thomas & DeMarco Murray rumors are picking up blistering steam!!! :)

After giving one guy $114 million, do the Dolphins have any money left to pay for the other 21 offensive and defensive starters?

Im glad to see him go to Miami... He will no longer be stomping on Packers...
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Glad jags didn't pay that price tag for Suh. Down the road that's gonna come back to hunt them imo.

Jags apparently have also come to terms with Jeremy Parnell, RT from the Cowboys

And another body at RT for the other side of the line...

Quotehttp://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/03/09/jermey-parnell-telling-people-he-plans-to-sign-with-jaguars/

The Cowboys re-signed Doug Free, which allowed them to hold onto one of the two men to start at right tackle for them last season.

It looks like the other one is headed for Jacksonville when players are allowed to sign with new clubs on Tuesday afternoon. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Parnell has told friends that he plans to sign a contract with the Jaguars.

Parnell played well for the Cowboys when Free was out of the lineup last season, but doesn't have much experience with nine NFL starts to this point in his career. The Jaguars need an upgrade at the position after watching Austin Pasztor and Sam Young struggle last season, though, and they'll bet that Parnell can provide it over a more extended sample size.

If the reported plans for Tuesday come to fruition, the Jaguars will be adding tight end Julius Thomas and defensive tackle Jared Odrick in addition to Parnell. Given Jacksonville's cap space, there should be more moves to come as Jacksonville tries to take a step forward in 2015.
A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

I'm confused, so did you want the Jags to get Suh, or not??? I'm okay with him not being here. Defensive tackle IMO isn't a major priority for Jax with many holes. Suh is extremely expensive, with the added baggage of being a dirty player. No denying that he's a beast, but I won't lose any sleep. Besides, Leonard Williams is still a possibility.
