^^ Ive been saying this for months now. And now after our first preseason game, and Im even more convinced. Playoffs? Hell no. But they will be MUCH better and will pretty much shock everyone at how much theyve improved. I was just reading this ESPN article from 2009 and it is a reminder of where were just a few years ago. I smile everyday knowing things have turned around.

Seeing that Polians protege is pulling the strings here, this is not surprising.  The Jags "turnaround" started at game 9 last season but they still have a ways to go.

While the press continues to push lower expectations, I see alot of similarities with the 1983 Chicago Bears when new GM Jerry Vanisi began to turn them around through the draft and they hired a new head coach. It led to the dominant 1985 team.

May the Jags be able to reach such levels.

It wasnt very many years ago that the NFC west was laughingly refered to as the NFC "worst" with SF, Seattle, Rams and Cards barely winning 50%... didnt Seattle win the division a few years ago with a losing record?
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

The 1983 Bears draft was one of the most ridiculously strong drafts ever.

Yes Seattle won their divison with a losing record. They were 7-9 that year.

Just a FYI to those of you that are season ticket holders and will be using e Publix coupon on the back.  They have expiration dates on each one and it is not far out from the actual game. For example, today is the expiration date for ticket for the Tampa game!!  This tight of expiration date was not used in years past when it was for W-D.

Impressive performance by the Jaguars. Henne and Bortles both moved the team down the field. Would have been nice to see some TD's instead of field goals, but you have to like the progress. Especially with essentially Marqise Lee and a bunch of undrafted free agents at receivers. And the first and second team defense held it's own against a good Bears offense.

This #BortlesStart is running rampant, along with #ManzielStart. I agree with what the Jags are doing concerning this 'QB controversy'. Start Henne for now, and let Bortles learn. The last thing that I want is another Leftwich/Gabbert situation. Bortles will definitely get his chance soon. Both QBs looked good vs the Bears; The refs were definitely overzealous with all of those flags (many bad calls).

14 penalties for 141 yards on the Jags, yeah its preseason, but still, Gus, how about some discipline?

I loved last nights game. It's always exciting when you spend the final two minutes on the edge of your seat rooting for the team to pull through. And it was exactly was preseason was for, even though I was aggravated when That interception was thrown (I still don't know what Morris was even thinking-threw right to him!), that's the only way to see how people act under fire.

In other related news, a little bit of my observations of the Jaguars effect outside of Jacksonville. I don't think we can truly understand just yet the benefit that Khan is bringing home.

That was arguably the worst officiating I have ever seen.  I hope the officials get all the kinks worked out before the season, or games are going to be 4 1/2 hours every time.

The new illegal contact rules are absurd.
So I said to him: Arthur, Artie come on, why does the salesman have to die? Change the title; The life of a salesman. That's what people want to see.

I have to agree Bridges the officiating was crazy. It became flag football.
