Make or break for our "offensive weapon" Denard Robinson. I will definitely be keeping an eye on him this preseason.

From what Ive been reading, he has been great in training camp. Last year he couldnt hold on to the ball bceause of the nerve damage he sustained. Looks like he better now because I dont think he had any drops in training camp.

^ I think he has a world of potential. Last season seemed more of an experimental phase for him and adjusting from playing QB to what they used him for isn't easy, obviously. That being said, if he's used in the right packages, he could thrive in our offense. I also hope he succeeds from a marketability standpoint lol.

I just read that the preseason booth will be Sam Kouvaris and Mark Brunell. Ugh. I usually watch the games after I get home from them but may have to do so on mute this year. First Frangie in the radio booth and now Kouvaris in the TV booth. What did us Jaguars fans do to deserve this?

He's never been able to hold on to the ball. It's been a problem with him throughout college and now the pros.  They can say they found nerve damage all that they want, but this has been his issue for a long long time.
So I said to him: Arthur, Artie come on, why does the salesman have to die? Change the title; The life of a salesman. That's what people want to see.

Ticket prices for tonight's preseason opener are trending higher on the secondary market than most regular season Jags games over the last couple of years. Definitely a great sign.

Defense looks solid.  Offense pretty rocky with the first string. Bortles did well against Bucs 2nd and 3rd string.

^^Im sorry the defense was freaking awesome. They seem to be getting better and better. And Bortles did great. I was very happy. He has poise, he was accurate, made the right reads, and hes tough. That guy had to damn near body slam him just to get a sack (which Im still pissed about by the way). The sound at the game was AWFUL. I expected a few hiccups with all the new gadgets. I dont know what was going on though. When I first got there the sound was loud is was echoing, then once the game started you could hear shit. Then around the third quarter they finally seemed to have it at the right level.

I'm still a convinced. Bortles starts at least 4 games this year.
I support meaningless jingoistic cliches

The defense played great all game. I know Bortles wasn't playing against starters, but his accuracy was really impressive.

We were lucky enough to have tickets to one of pool cabanas. It really made for a great experience. I'll try to post some pictures in the morning.

I ran a few calculations, and I think it's safe to say that Blake Bortles is approximately one billion times tougher than Blaine Gabbert. It's still early, but the guy shows a hell of a lot of poise in the pocket. If not for the blown catches, he probably would have been 10 for 11 with 150 yards. If the Jags get off to a rough start, it's going to be hard to keep him on the bench.

Storm Johnson showed quite a bit of promise tonight too, in my opinion.

Was stuck at work late and had to watch on TV, but man, pretty rough television production on Channel 4. We're two years into the rebranding, and they're still using the old logo?

Great defense, offense lets hope for improvement with some continuity and everyone healthy.

Yeah I agree. It was hard for me to gauge the states on offense because so many people were out. And the inexperience at WR was showing. And the center.. needs help LMAO All I can say is I miss Brad Meester dearly. He was definitely our rock for a long time. Hopefully we can get the center position sorted out by week one

I watched the Channel 4 broadcast this morning. It was awful. The first couple minutes has no sound. They used the old logo on multiple occasions. And Kouvaris just is not very good at PBP. Hopefully this is a one year experiment and they get a real broadcaster next year.

I was hoping Brunell's ESPN gig meant I wouldn't have to hear him do color anymore, but oh well. He wasn't as bad as last year, at least:

"Oh, and he just hit Henne after he'd already thrown the ball. That's a penalty. As a quarterback, Mark, what do you think about that?"
"As a quarterback, I don't like it. That's not how you play the game."
