I'm fine with the Jag's draft so far.  Getting Lee and Robinson fits pretty well with the Bortles selection. It also doesn't hurt that they picked up a Miami Hurricane! ;)

With the number of positions on this team that could be improved I was hoping for a trade back in the first round.  Time will tell if Bortles was worth more to the franchise than the 9th pick in the draft plus a 1st and 4th 2015 (assuming it was there).  Maybe he's the next Big Ben (minus the sex assaults) or better.   I'm hoping they are right.  I do think he was the best QB prospect in this draft.  I always thought Manziel is too small and the Tebow like hoopla is something this franchise has no interest in.

Great job on 2nd & 3rd Round picks.  Lee is a steal, and Robinson is a big target.  WR was a huge need for many teams and I think the Jags got 2 of the best for their needs in rounds where they were going quick.  Glad to see they addressed the OL  with Linder he's a guy familiar with Fisch's schemes and can play OG and OT wonder if they will groom him to play C?

I'm looking forward to see what they do today!

T-U is reporting this morning that with the drafting of 2 top WR's, that Justin Blackmon's career is pretty much complete now.

League rules forbid a team cutting a player who is in a league recovery program, but it appears Caldwell and Bradley have moved on.

So long Justin Blackmon. It was great to watch you in the teal. I hope you get the issues worked out.

In the end Tyson Alualu and Andre Branch will be the only two 1st or 2nd round picks leftover from the Gene Smith Error. Alualu will be the only first round pick to finish his rookie contract as a Jaguar.

So they closed it out with yet another UCF pick - guess they'll be sending that Gus bus back to O-Town this year.

It will be  interesting for fans in Orlando. Bortles first few starts will likely be televised regardless of home or away

Okay. People are killing me asking what does it mean for CS3 because we drafted two receivers? Do any of these idoits know that most team have 5-6 wideouts on their 53 man roster? Fans have this idea that if you draft a player a position and they are suppose to better than what you currently have, then you are supposed to get rid of them? Its called building depth! Why would get rid of a #2 receiver who literally has flirted with 1,000 yard season two years in a row (drops and injuries have killed his numbers btw). Not to mention was only a 4th round pick. Same for Alualu, yeah he never reached "first round potential" but he was been a solid starter. Hes now part of our depth and will be in the rotation at DE.

^^^LOL, the attempted correlation with CS3 and the number of WRs drafted in 2014. I hope those people do not identify themselves as Jags fans.

Well....

It will probably mean that once they get up to speed with the offense, CS3 will probably start having some of the best seasons of his career.

My brain is already drawing up passing plays with Lee and CS3 on one side, Robinson and Lewis on the other...   Then it becomes 'pick you poison'.  Speed on one side, size on the other.

I think we have to keep in mind they are still rookies and seldom do rookie WRs make a huge splash. It will be good though as they will get extensive time and we will get a good feel for their future. It will make it important for Shorts to have a very productive year though to keep him after next year in my opinion as it will be his contract year and while being fairly productive he has had injury issues.  Overall a great position for the Jags though.

And have Ace line up as a tail back. LOL bUt thats what I said too. Everybody forgets about Lewis. The four of those combined will be ALOT for any team to process. Regardless of who the QB is, they will have options.

And that's kind of my point...  Ace won't have to line up in the backfield.  We have Todman & Gerhart for that.  People keep getting hung up on having a Calvin or an Andre or even a Green & Jones.  How about just having a set of complimenting players?  Like the 49ers.   Like the Seahawks.  Like the Steelers.  Like the Giants.

I won't sit here and say that it wouldn't be great to have a true #1, but think about having a guy like Robinson and Lewis lining up in the slot for 75% of the plays and beating the absolute shit out of the corner or nickel guy, then sub in a fresh Ace or run a pre-snap motion to match up CS3 to put a speedster on that guy who's been taking a beating all day.  He won't be able to keep up.

The beauty of having SEVERAL options.
