Just another note about the Jaguars showing the fans some love. I saw a few of the BCB guys say that the Jaguars picked up the tab for about a hour of drinking for all of the Jaguars fans in NYC last night.

Pretty much sums it up.

Also from BCC and tweets from last night, out of the 1,000 tickets given out for the draft, 130 of them were to BCB!

I don't have a clue how the other teams have shown up, but you can bet your ass that when our pick is called there will be a DUUUUUUUUVVVVVAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLL  heard around the nation.

I'm kinda hoping that we can get a couple solid soundbites when the rest of the AFC south make their picks.....  ;D

I saw that ratio last night. That is so awesome. Give those BCB guys a ton of credit. True die-hards.

This comment from BCC kind of sums up my thoughts on what we're seeing:

Quote Thanks to the BCB
The original group of diehards always talked about how if the team could make it 20 years, the kids who grew up with the Jags would fill the void and bring our fan base to where it needs to be.

This is that.

The word is that the Mike Evans, the Texas A&M receiver draft stock has risen.

Jags better hope Watkins doesn't blow up in the league. He's one of the best college WR's I've ever seen.

Even UCF people I know aren't sold on Bortles being drafted so early. Seems like a good kid and has the tools though. Hopefully he gets a year or two to settle in before being thrown to the wolves.

Did Gene Smith sneak into the front office?

Gene didnt sneak in otherwise he would have traded next years draft to move up to pick someone that no else wanted (we just overdrafted as normal).  But other than that don't know how it could have been much worse.Bortles and not Bridgewater?   well hope he proves me wrong but have no hope for this pick. In addition sure there was a place kicker that Gene would have had his eye on.

exactly!  Just look how much Buffalo gave up to Cleveland to get that 4th pick and take Watkins.  Something tells me they would have traded with the Jags too...and I'm betting Bortles would still have been there at 8 or 9

Like Bortles, but hate him at #3.

Have all the faith in the world in Gus and Caldwell, but a third pick overall doesn't come around often, and this reads like a massive overdraft.

To think, we could have either:

1) Taken Watkins or Mack with the third pick, and then traded up to take Bortles/Teddy/Carr in the late first round/early second round.
2) Traded back, still gotten Bortles, and walked away with even more picks, or maybe a first rounder next year.

A real fucking headscratcher.

I was shocked as well. But I just let them do what they feel is best and let everything play its self out. Plus we have an awesome coaching staff now who is very good at developing players. We'll see what happens. We still have 10 more draft picks so Im anxious to see the rest of the picks. Regardless, I support whatever they do and trust them, until they give me a reason not too.
