Sportswriter in today's TU was urging the Jags to trade down and stockpile draft picks - go for quantity to fill as many of the team needs as possible, rather than going for a questionable QB choice at the top.

That would be the ideal situation. Even Caldwell mention that the situation they would prefer, but then it comes down to finding a trade partner, and determining how far we are willing to trade down. However, it also comes down to if they value a QB at #3, which they say they are still trying to determine.

Wow just read why Russell Allen failed his physical... he find out he had a stroke during the bills game last year, (after colliding with a defender) and didnt realize it. The doctors told him he has a dead spot in his brain, and it is on the area of the brain that controls body movement. Needless to say, he cant play football anymore. Man, didnt see that coming. I wish him the best.

The cry baby has returned. MJD just wont shut up. He says he was wronged because we "washed our hands" of him and players are loyal to the team, but its never the other way around. Dude, we ri;pped up your rookie contract, made the one of the highest paid RB in the league, Pratically WASHED OUR HANDS of Freddy after 10 years, and you want to whine?? If anything, Freddy was done wrong for you ass and now its a problem. Doesnt feel to good does it? I know some people said previous just to let it go, but it seems bitter ass mighty mouse still has not.... Im done LOL

14 - 1 o'clock games is a little disappointing. Also disappointing was the early rumors of a MNF game that was obviously just rumor. TNF is always fun but there's nothing quite like a Monday night game.
And though I long to embrace, I will not replace my priorities: humour, opinion, a sense of compassion, creativity and a distaste for fashion.

Man, I'm not liking these first couple of games, as they are very brutal. It's reminds me of the 2013 schedule. Washington isn't a juggernaut by no means, but that game is away, we traditionally seem to play awfully on the West Coast with San Diego, and play well against Pittsburgh (although no walk in the park), Tennessee seems to be a toss-up; Frankly, I'm not feeling any sympathy from the schedule makers until we play Cleveland at home.

Hey Wacca, you accidentally got us playing the Titans three times. After the Phins, we play Nati.

Basically no home (Jacksonville) football games for the entire month of November. Giants on the 30th might as well be Dec 1. Sweet!

Just taking a glance at the schedule, I see some early season struggles. Would not surprise me to see them get off to a 1-3 or 0-4 start. But I definitely see some wins in the middle-end of the year. Probably a 6-10/7-9 type year but probably some late season momentum going into 2015.

I-10east

^^^Yeah, I'm hoping that we could squeeze out a supreme-best case, for a 9-7 record, and atleast a minimum of 7-9. I'll be PO'ed if we go 6-10, because we could have had that record in 2013 with a tougher schedule. One good thing about this schedule compared to last years is that we don't have any of these 'no chance in hell of winning against this elite team' type of games; San Fran, Seattle, Denver, etc.

Was listening to sportstalk radio and they were blasting the lack of 4 o'clock games in general.  Basically with every weekend having 10 games at 1 and 3 games at 4 makes it a harder sell for the DirecTV package.

Besides, with a Thu night game every week, they had to take away from somewhere.  Also, with CBS owning the Thursday night schedule, I am willing to believe that those games will be much better than in the past with MNF taking even a further slide down.

The over-air networks have always had a better production than the cable channels when it comes to football, IMO.

A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.
