i just sat there in my seat in utter disbelief at what I saw on the field. We can only hope there is some kind of improvement.

don't they have redzone on the scoreboard now?  That helps

No.  Not yet.  And in fact, they did away with the scrolling player stats in the four corners.  So that was annoying.
So I said to him: Arthur, Artie come on, why does the salesman have to die? Change the title; The life of a salesman. That's what people want to see.

Yikes. ESPN noted that, of the approximately 15,000 NFL games since 1960, Gabbert's offensive numbers were good for 7th worst QB performance in modern league history.

they really are bad and sadly, their best home game will be played in London.

I hope they are playing better by then because I have tickets to the London game. Its not nice sitting through a total domination while the other fans are having a good time.

The funny part is... he wasn't too far off his normal game stats. I can't remember the last time I saw a QB put up such poor numbers over consecutive years. Regardless of how good his arm is or whether he can make all the throws.. the guy is a bust. We've all seen the 'flashes' but consistently, he's been terrible.

On the brightside, I felt our defense played decently aside from the lack of pass rush and poor tackling. It's going to be tough on the D this year though... when your offense can't get a first down, scores points for the other team and generally has a hard enough time not going backwards... they're going to spend a lot of time out on the field... getting warn down. Injuries on that side of the ball are obviously much more likely, too.

To cope, I'm going to further lower my expectations for the season, look forward any modest improvement and trust in the rebuilding process. Hopefully we'll draft the franchise QB we desperately need. I also plan to continue drinking my face off at the games.

And though I long to embrace, I will not replace my priorities: humour, opinion, a sense of compassion, creativity and a distaste for fashion.

you could always trade those tickets and go watch Chelsea play instead.

Here comes the bullshit train - I'm thinking the photos were with less than 5 mins to go because it sure looked like a solid crowd at kickoff:

That was my original plan for the weekend when I was going over with a Jags fan friend. Always love Stamford Bridge and Man City should be a good match (be forewarned, that's a match you'll likely need a membership and booking history to get tickets for unless you want to pay through the nose for second-hand tix).

I just want my Facebook feed to stop featuring a merciless onslaught of pleas to sign Tebow.

Only the Chargers would blow a 28-7 lead in the 3rd QTR to lose the game 31-28. Stay classy San Diego, and thanks for making the Jags the sole cellar-dweller in the AFC South. FML....
