Curious as to whether those who have been here since the first season consider this the worst team in franchise history.

It's almost getting too painful to watch.
Yes, its worse than the inaugural team.

I have actually stopped watching this year... it's way less painful that way.  it is so much easier to read about the loss the following day than to watch it unfold before your eyes.  I might have to have a snake's jaw implanted in my mouth the way the Jaguars leave it agape all the time.

But I already see people saying that this isn't a great year to have the first pick of the draft.

Right now I don't see us ending with a better record of any team but maybe KC. I've heard Geno Smith and Matt Barkley as possible first picks but neither appears to be an elite prospect like Luck, Bradford and Stafford. I do like Jarvis Jones from UGa as a potential impact defensive player for this team. The other guy is Bjoern Werner. He is a stud for FSU and appears to only be getting better.

I have season tickets and I really have no idea how many more games I attend.  Those I do attend I will likely leave at half.

Its just so weird. There is just so much going on... and some of it are out of our control. We are so cursed right now for no apprent reason. Its like we are already struggling, and any and everything that can happen to make it worse, happens. I honestly feel we would have pulled out that game sunday had gabbert not went down. Its like everything that can go wrong, goes wrong. I think somebody put roots on us.  ;D I have never seen this much go wrong at one time

^^ I'd like us to stay in range of getting one of the top 5 picks. I would even go for having the first pick, trade back and get more picks out of it. But I already see people saying that this isn't a great year to have the first pick of the draft.

Getting the first pick won't matter as long as Gene Smith is picking.

Can Khan afford to fire everyone on the team (with the exception of Skobee) and just start with a clean slate? I guess he'd have to buy everyone out of their contracts, but what the Hell. We have nothing to work with right now, except for our kicker, he's the star of the team.

This is another area where I'm hoping the London arrangement might help us. It's easy for a terrible team to fly under the radar and "stay the course" for a few years in a market the size of Jacksonville. When we're talking annual international games though, you can't send the Bad News Jags into one of the biggest, most important cities in the world and expect Londoners to be impressed. These people hosted the Olympics this year, I doubt they are going to have continued patience for the product we are currently fielding. Maybe it will encourage Khan to make some drastic changes before next season, starting with good old Gene Smith. We're only six games in, but Mike Mularkey's play calling hasn't been up to snuff either.

Unless they make some miracle turnaround without MJD, Gene Smith isn't coming back. Khan won't be as patient as Weaver was. Smith is gone the day after the season ends.

You do mean Brakowski's playing calling right?

There have been a plethora of really poor calls on both ends of the ball, beginning with the end of the first game of the season in Minnesota, through the greedy 4th and 1 on Sunday in the first half that allowed for the Raiders field goal that turned the momentum in favor of Oakland. Bratkowski deserves his fair share of the blame, and the players deserve a huge share as well for their failure to execute, but overall, I really haven't been impressed with Mularkey, particuarly in the Monday press conferences. Could just be my interpretation of his overall tone, but he seems far too accepting of mediocrity. I'm hearing the same rhetoric from everyone about turning the corner and about how it's no fun to lose, but you just don't sense that translating to any real urgency on the field. When your defense is playing (marginally) better than your offense as well, I'm not sure I understand the on sides kicks and 4th-and-1s with a two touchdown lead in the first half.

Jacksonville is a lot like Cleveland in that we get beat up so badly by the mainstream that we kind of depend on our sports teams to boost up our civic pride and overall self-confidence as a city. When we get dragged through the mud so badly on the field, I think it hurts five times more than it would for some of the other cities out there. It's tough when the thing that puts your city on the map becomes the league embarrassment.

We are so cursed right now for no apprent reason.
Disagree.  There is an apparent reason: an appalling scarcity of talent.  This team lacks talent in a big way.

If you read my entire message, I also referred to the rash of injuries this year as well.

So should mularkey be spitting fire and cursing everyone out? I don't think that will solve anything. Mulrakey is who is who he is. He's not an irrate, red in the face coughlin. That's not everyone style. Tony Dungy is a perfect example. He was always calm and mild mannered. Everyone nots the same. So if Mulrkey's just started acting all irate, would you be impressed with him then? This is not against you, but Ive heard that " oh he has not passion." The team just sucks. They inherited a complete mess.
