While it is interesting and fun to watch the Denver coaching staff come up with a formula to win with Tebow... It is clear with the release of Orton they are making way to either draft or acquire a quarterback in the off season to compete with Tebow next year.  Tebows wins are buying him time... to learn to be a QB... 8)

'Tis the million-dollar question, BT.  What does Denver do in the offseason?

A telling sign of the 'Trials of Job Tebow' is the reaction of the team's president after every score.  A nice, lttle golf-clap and a sigh of contempt, knowing that every win Tebow compiles will make Elway's job in the spring that much more difficult.

This is not Tebows Rookie year, but it may as well be since he played little last year, but he does have more experience than BG, you are right. Also, as far as Denver's defense, where was it when Orton was playing? I believe the defense is there because of Tebow. Rose colored glasses, maybe, but the fact is they were terrible during Orton and playing lights out now. What is the difference?

Also, I don't believe I ever said that Tebow should have been drafted by the Jaguars. I will say that it would have been a  great business move and I truly believe it would have brought more fans. I am not sure it would have brought enough to matter, but it would have brought some buzz and some national media attention, which is what Denver is getting now. I am sure he will lose some more this year, and may very likely not make the playoffs this year, but to me, with Tebow at your helm, it seems like you always have that chance at something special.

Just giving the Bronco's season a quick glance, the only item of note (at least for me) to tell you the difference between Orton and Tebow are the Turnovers.

Their first 5 games the Broncos gave the ball up 12 times, the last 6 games - 5.  I didn't go through the box-scores to see who was coughing the ball up, but it's a huge disparity.

The point differential is probably in direct correlation with the turn-overs.  The first 5 games Denver was outscored by a TD/game, and the last 6 they've whittled it down to less than a point per game.

Another point I will raise is about Von Miller & Elvis Dumerville.  Von is a rookie and is progressing better than anyone expected.  Dumerville was coming off of an entire year of IR and probably needed a few games to get in the swing of things.

Matt Flynn... Aaron Rodgers backup?
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Drafted a home town hero is not a way to build a fan base. That would have been the biggest mistake we could have made. It would have built a fan base of bandwagon fans that would only be there for Tebow and not the Jags. I like the fact that we have avoided blackouts the past two years with out using gimmicks and games to trick people into buying tickets.

As far as his play, he is not producing. He runs anytime he feels pressure and cant make any passes. I respect Gabbert for staying in the pocket and trying to make a play, even when he knows hes going to get bull rushed. And yes Denver's defense is the reason they are winning. A good defense always helps a rookie QB because they keep the game within reach. (same goes for our defense)

Don't forget, they still have Brady Quinn.  Although, he might be chalked up to being a complete bust or just the unluckiest guy in the NFL.

Your top 4 QBs in the draft:  Luck, Barkley, Jones & Griffin.  All projected to go in the first half of round 1.  So as long as they're winning, they'll be out of the running for these guys.

Matt Flynn to the Broncos....  I don't see it for a couple of reasons.  1.)  The pack doesn't have another QB on their roster.  2.) The price for the Broncos would probably be too great when they could snag a top-flight rookie from the draft.  Do you really think that GB will shop him?  And do you really think that another team would pay for him?  He really hasn't done much except hold a clipboard for what?  3-4 years?

It's definitely something to keep an eye on next spring.

They will deal him... if they can.  He will be a free agent after this year.  He has played well the few times he has been in.  GB has a long history of dealing their developed back up QBs.  They do have Graham Harrel who is behind Flynn and I fully expect GB to draft a QB in the later rounds and "coach him up".

We are barely avoiding blackouts. Come on, we all know Sundays game should have been blacked out. It looks like some tickets were bought by the Jags on that one. I think the rest of the season, including the Monday Night Game, are going to be very tough sells.
Do you seriously think Gabbert is staying in the pocket and taking the hits? Are you not seeing what I and everyone else see? Any time there is pressure, all he sees is the guys coming at him. He flinches everytime, and seems to almost fall before the guys reach him, and quite frankly looks very soft. The third string announcers pointed this out mercilessly. He is starting to become the laughing stock of the league. That is a huge problem that is only getting worse.

Technically, he's on the practice squad, meaning he's a FA, which is why I didn't see him on the depth chart the first time I looked.

So I guess it makes sense to deal Flynn, promote Harrell and find another 'jar' to put on the shelf, as Vicbow would say.

Had to do some checking.  It's tough enough for me to keep up with our team.  I don't bleed any other color than teal.   :D

Im there every week and the stadium is packed. Our attedance average has been 62,000 all season. Secondly, the only game where the tickets were bought was the Bengals by Anshesur busch. Tickets for Sundays game were sold. Every year on miltary appreciation they are a ton of tickets bought and donated. Please know your facts before speaking.  enuff said.

I stated the average for the season. I havent heard the exact number for sunday as of yet. But I was there, and it was far from empty. The average so far 62,273 and we are ranked number 26 in attendance. Not hardly having that problem DD.

Another thing I'd like to mention, courtesy of the brand, spankin' new CBA.

For arguments sake, let's say that BG is a complete bust.  He goes out next year and really stinks it up.  It's not the end of the world, as it used to be, because we're only out $12M plus next year's salary.  So we're not dealing with Jamarcus Russell - $50M, Sam Bradford (yes, he's not having a great year) $60M guaranteed money.  Missing on a 1st rounder won't set the franchise back 4-5 years as it used to, now there's a 2-3 year turn-around.  I know most of the fans won't put up with it, but in reality, it's not a bad thing.  A team can easily weather a swing-and-miss, just not 2 or 3 in a row.

If you disregard losing the offseason due to the lockout, being thrown into the starting QB position two games into the season, having no one competent to coach him, having no wide reciever competent enough to catch a pass in the end zone, and having no offensive line to protect him for longer than two seconds, that Gabbert sure is a disappointment!
