First Coast news showed Councilwoman Kimberly Daniels at the most recent council meeting ranting about gays and Muslims. What happened to provoke this outburst?

She's a Dem. I tried to warn my friends, but most only knew the mayoral race, then went party line. Unfortunately, this was a cost of Brown getting elected.

Garden guy, this is the problem with you only voting for Democrats. Sometimes the worst candidate on the ballot is from our party. In those cases, you have to break the party mold and vote for the lesser of evils. Or skip that line on the ballot, which some people certainly did.

Bridges, well said. The Mayoral race filtered down to some extent to that At-Large contest. But I have a friend who ran an analysis of the race. In places around town where LGBT were most vocal about how bad for Jacksonville Daniels would be, votes for the Mayor weren't automatically votes for Daniels. That tells me we could have done more on the education front. Maybe by 2015 we'll be better organized to do just that.
