Notice that Yarborough and Redman voted with her to abolish the Human Rights Commission.  Birds of a feather?

Indeed, Dog Walker.  They are absolutely on the fringes.

You're right about splitting the vote on Daniels and Brown. But the biggest problem was the jerk who ran against her. A no win race to the bottom.

NPR did a whole segment on the Dominionist movement in August explaining the Dominionist movement and it motivators.    http://www.npr.org/2011/08/24/139781021/the-evangelicals-engaged-in-spiritual-warfare

Kimberly Daniels is an apostle in this movement https://kimberlydaniels.com/Main.php.  I also note that near the end of her campaign for city council she removed several sections with the most egregious comments from her website.

If you listen to the entire NPR interview (its almost 40 minutes so get comfortable) there is also a brief discussion about one of the tactics their movement employed in Texas to run African-American candidates as Democrats with the purpose of undermining the Democratic party in the African-American Communities.  Given the views Kimberly Daniels has published on Democrats, Obama, and liberals, it is clear to me she is part of this strategy.

For a refresher on Kimberly Daniels, read this thread http://www.metrojacksonville.com/forum/index.php?topic=11972.0

She's a pathetic nut job. Speaking of, did you see Clay Yarborough found a 'wife'?

;Naughty, Stephen!  Funny, but naughty.   ;)

really?  Is the adam's apple visible?

I'll let you be the judge...There's a picture of the happy couple in this rather nauseating article from the weekend.

So... When Clay was 28, he was pursuing a 20 year old UNF student..... That's not creepy.

Also, how recently was Kim Daniels a prostitute??

fsujax

Why make an issue of Clay getting married. Good for him. I thought this thread was about daniels???

Jimmy

Clay and Daniels and Redman are birds of a feather.

But I agree generally that Clay's wedding is far afield.

Insulting Yarborough and worse, his wife, on a personal level is beneath all of us here. There's plenty to complain about in his actions and record on the city council, let's stick to that.

And Captain, IIRC Daniels says she was a prostitute when she was in her 20s, when she was addicted to drugs. She later found religion and turned her life around. She eventually became a (nutty) preacher and has run her (nutty) church for the last 15 years.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

....if they are feathers on a bright pink boa, then yes.  We all know who loves wearing pink boas.  ;D

I love how she wraps herself in the Constitution saying it's her right as an American and Councilwoman to point this out. I hear similar rants from Michele Bachman and she is nuttier than fruitcake.

I think that Council Member Daniels sums up what Shelton Hull has been trying to say to local Democrats.  Our local government, he asserts, does not have to be one-sided in favor of one political party.  Sitting out elections because "they fear that they do not have a chance" does more harm than good.  We end up having candidates winning elections by default and without any real debates or challenges.  Ms. Daniels, to give credit where credit is due, put herself in the ring and took a chance on winning.  Just think of the other Democrats who passed on running for that seat.  It could have been different if someone decided to take the same stand that Ms. Daniels took.  Were there people who were better suited for that seat?  We don't know and probably won't know until Democrats take a stand and start fielding candidates up and down the ballot.
