UNF Market Days

UNF has a weekly "Market Day" in the Student Union plaza for students, faculty, and staff every Wednesday. Now in its third year, many of the vendors are UNF students and food and art vendors also seen at Riverside Arts Market and Art Walk. This event is mostly unknown outside of campus, and the question I would like to pose is what do people like in their Farmer's Markets? What works and doesn't work at RAM or the Jacksonville Landing Market?

For starters, having IAW rolling up in their van is always a crowd pleaser....

IAW?  Please elaborate.  Thanks!

Thanks for the clarification.  At first glance, I thought it was a union-related group.  Then, I googled IAW and saw:
International Alliance of Women
Israeli Apartheid Week
International Association Welding
Never been to the Ale Works, but may go...

Thanks for the tip!

Sorry to lead you on a goose chase.

He asked what really works at RAM, and that was the best answer I had.

Then again, I don't know too many scenarios that $3 pints won't work really well with....

Let's see:  Church - might make the message better or help me sleep easier.  Work - ACAD makes sure the lines are straight for me now.  Kid's Party - Yes Please!  Driving - Since I take the bus to and from work, hmmmmm......
Standing in Line at the DMV - "you go ahead, I'm not quite finished with this one"

Yep.  Pretty much solves most everyone's problems.

The Market Days is a neat concept, but it doesn't really "work" at the school. It consists mostly of on-campus clubs giving out freebies for promotional means. It's more of an inconvenience really, with how much space it takes up and noise it generates. The school should've hosted it elsewhere, say setting up a booth at RAM.

^It's funny to hear you say that, because by far the biggest complaints we hear from students is that there's not enough going on, or that they don't hear about things until too late. I don't think I've ever heard there's too much noise or that things are promoted too much!

The point of Market Days is to bring in vendors to sell products to students, and to give campus organizations a regular tabling opportunity (they're about 50/50). Doing this anywhere besides UNF would kind of defeat the purpose. And on campus the Student Union is the obvious place.

That's not to say that we shouldn't get out there in events like RAM more. We've definitely had success at Artwalk at MOCA Jax.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?
