Inside the 5 Points Theatre Building

We've got an open office at the 5 Points Theatre Building, and I thought readers might want to see it.  Send me a private message if you'd like more info.

Overall we've got about 30,000 square feet of office space on 3 floors.  Our offices are small - from 290 to about 1,200 square feet.  There's a common kitchen, conference room and bathrooms on each floor. 

Our tenants run the gamut - we've got architects, lawyers, designers, computer guys, financial planners, and a couple of guys that I'm not sure what they do.  Most definitely fall under the heading of "creative."

The building was mostly gutted in the 1970s, but we tried to recreate the historic feel.  The only true historic feature is the floors - terrazzo in the hallways and oak in the offices. 

Our open office is one of the larger ones - 1,170 square feet with 3 offices, a file room and a large "bullpen".  It was formerly the home of the Trust for Public Land (they had to downsize but have stayed in the building).

We were pretty excited when we removed some nasty carpet and revealed that terrazzo.


The hallways have a very film noir look.

Amazing place! I love the offices above it! I knew there is more to the building than meet the eyes. 5 Points Theatre is home of Jacksonville's Pecha Kucha! Huge thanks to the owners and managers for allowing us to host PKJax!

Shortly after the Salk Polio Vaccine came out, (1954?), I can remember chasing my younger brother down the hall of that building as he was trying to get out of taking the third shot of the series.  Dr. Nathan Weil, the pediatrician to most of Riverside, had his offices in that building which was medical offices at the time.

The Shad's have done a really great job saving and rehabbing the building.

Anytime anyone mentions the 5 Points Theater I am compelled to brag about my dad, who did the faux finish on the walls of the theater and the entryway. It was a massive undertaking involving a 40 foot ladder, me at the bottom, and my tiny, terrified father at the top. He did a great job. So did everyone else involved with the rehabilitation of the building. It looks fantastic!

Dog Walker - Many people have flashbacks to getting shots in the building.  Some people can pick out the exact window they were looking out of when they got stuck.
