The association fees are in line with those charged by other condominiums.

The price per square foot is a little high in this market, and it is very difficult to get financing for condominiums.

I think it's a great project, however, and hope it's successful.

Just took a tour of the John Gorrie... very impressive.

Great job on the renovation and reuse of so many of the original details. If you take a tour, make sure to check out the units built out of the old auditorium / stage. One of the units uses the actual original stage as the unit's floor... the other has some unbelievably detailed trim that goes all the way up and around the second floor of the unit.

There are a handful of lenders that have some really creative finance options. 2 thumbs up to the Weaver on a job well done. I imagine all 68 will go fast.
And though I long to embrace, I will not replace my priorities: humour, opinion, a sense of compassion, creativity and a distaste for fashion.

That sounds like a tour I should take.

Yeah, I saw the unit with the old auditorium and stage too - very cool.  At the opposite end of the main building, they built units in the old gymnasium.  That's the old basketball court.

QuoteBold Bean Coffee Roasters is moving to Riverside, where it will open a coffee shop to go with its roasting business. Bold Bean Roastery and Brew Bar will be at 869 Stockton St., next door to Bakery Moderne and just down the block from 13 Gypsies, owner Jay Burnett said.

The company produces small-batch, artisan coffee, and is now located on Corporate Square Boulevard, off Southside Boulevard.

Currently, Bold Bean only roasts coffee for sale in restaurants and stores in Jacksonville and around the state. It's in all the Whole Foods in Florida, for example.

But the new venture include not only the roastery but a coffee bar as well. Burnett wouldn't say exactly what the brew bar would be, only that it'd be a different take on a traditional coffee shop.

The final plans for the build out are being finalized now, he said, but he expects to open around the first of September.

Burnett and his son Zack founded the company about three years ago.

Walked the dogs by the new location for Bold Bean this morning.  They were putting finishing touches on really neat, modern decor and say that they will be opening next week.  The smell of coffee coming out of the door was fantastic, but the dogs were with me so I couldn't go in to try the offered cup.

The roaster is a masterpiece of chrome and is set up in it's own, glass-walled room like a shrine to the coffee gods.

Looks like this is going to be a great addition to the neighborhood.
When all else fails hug the dog.

Sounds Fantastic!    Also, with the addition of Pele's Wood Fire opening soon at a near by corner pulling fresh espresso shots, local roasted coffee, and 100% kona coffee along side their in house wood fired pastries. The neighborhood willl have some new choices to check out for early morning satisfaction.    Can't wait!

Thank God. Because Riverside has been sorely lacking in the coffee department lately. After the closings of the ones if Five Points (Broadway & 5 Pts Coffee Spice), Starbucks has been the only game in that entire area. Unless you want to count Einstein's or Biscottis (I do not). Those are more of a bagel place & a restaurant that serves coffee.

If you wanna get technical, this is really the first real coffee house in Jacksonville. Meaning they handle the product from start (the roasting phase) to finish, all in house, and prepared individually per order (using the pour-over method, french press, etc). That's commonplace in many major metro areas, but hasn't been here. And if you asked Starbucks for a pour-over, they'd look at you with a blank stare.

Any idea if Pele's is going to have authentic Italian breakfast?
