I read that Olio opened yesterday, the new restaurant Downtown in the first floor of Churchwell Lofts.  Has anyone been yet?  Thoughts? Thanks!

Dog Walker

I saw it but thought it was a margarine shop so didn't go in.
When all else fails hug the dog.

I'd like to try it out but the hours of operation are killing me. I'm off on Friday's though, so maybe I'll check it out then. I see in the TU article they were saying that they are considering serving breakfast also. I'll definitely try that out.

Bativac

I have not been but I've peeked in the windows. I'd love to try it when I have a day that I'm not working. Can't make it given my current schedule.

Also I wanted to brag about the fact that my dad did some of the artistic finishes on the walls in the lobby of the Churchwell lofts, around the corner from Olio.

The problem for me is that if I go there for a late lunch on my day off and then they kick me out at 3pm, what do I do with myself until Mark's opens at 4pm?  ;D

Are you busy this Friday afternoon? If not, let's meet up there around 4pm and throw back a few!

I ate lunch there today (Yes I am both answering my own question) and had the turkey sandwich; it was great!! The interior looks very cool; I am so glad we have options like this downtown now.  Highly recommended.

Ate there yesterday and definitely recommend it!  Their cuban was pretty solid as well as their fries.  Has a nice interior too.

Ate there tonight. The interior is fantastic and the food was pretty good too. Very reasonably priced.

Talked with the manager for a little while and he said they plan on trying to do more stuff at night when they get their beer and liquor license. Also said they may try and stay open weekend nights for the after bar crowd. Possibly even late. Would be a great place to hangout and get a late night bite after hitting the bars.

Definitely a very welcome addition to DT and Bay Street.

That would be awesome; there is nowhere within reason to eat after the bars besides the hotdog stand and Northstar...

^Correction to my above post. I meant beer and wine license.
