Alvin definitely seems to have the momentum. Hope he can keep it rolling.

Someone I trust and respect told me recently that they are really sold on Alvin and that he has really made quite an impression on a lot of people lately. Said he is not just getting these endorsements because Hogan is so bad (though it is obviously a factor), but that a lot of people are genuinely sold on Alvin.

Now I've gone back and it looks like the Hogan voters are awake - it's 55-45 in favor of Hogan.
So far the sample size is about 130. So 10% difference is only 13 votes. Surely we can get people to click on the link! (See link on previous page)

My sources tell me that Audrey Moran has no intention of endorsing either candidate because she sincerely believes that she would have been the best person to lead the city.  Does anyone else have any scuttlebutt on that?  Just wondering...

Yeah I have a friend that grew up here and really seems to know the politics of the area very well.  He totally called the Audrey situation before it ever happened.  He said Brown is going to win!  Not to sound hokey, but I hope he is right

I like Hogan's new campaign and the spin in the Times Union, to keep it fair about Brown spending more downtown, I like the new poll with Hogan too. Looks promising, as we get to see the final stretch and who is putting up $$$ and who is putting up BS.

I hope that Audrey's confidence in herself leads her to run again.  She is the best person to lead the city.  Neither of these guys do it for me like she did (tee-hee), but I'd prefer a Brown victory.  It baffles me how Hogan's hands-off, sometimes head-sctacher of a campaign is still so effective.

I am glad to know that politics is once again all about money.  I know a few good Mexican brothels where money talks as well as it does in our local politics!

A) I don't believe the latest Hogan poll to be accurate. Consider the source. It behooves Hogan to release results that overemphasize his lead, so his folks don't think their hold on the race is loosening, and to discourage Dem voters from coming out.

B) I truly do believe that the bipartisan support for Brown shows us something, both about Brown and Hogan. The TU editorial board backed him. Peter Rummell backed him. Ed Austin backed him. I find it hard to believe they would all fall in line with a candidate as liberal as Hogan's latest ads make Brown sound.

Jaxson

BTW, I do not believe that Alvin Brown is BSing anyone in this election.  I do believe, however, that the other candidate represents the same style of politics that our city has been forced to put up with for nearly a generation.

and Alvin has also had polls done showing the race closing to near a dead heat...my guess is the answer is in between...something around 5%

Has anyone seen the afternoon edition of the T-U website??? My god, look at the arrogance on the face of Hogan in the picture...

Is that really shocking? I call it smug. same, pretty much :)

Jaxson

There is a natural smugness that comes with being part of a political party and power clique that have controlled Jacksonville for so long.  Mike Hogan and his folks seem to believe that they already have the election in the bag.
