URBAN FOOD FIGHT

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- When Amanda Searle wants fresh eggs or milk, she doesn't go to the store. She just walks out her back door.

"There's nothing more pleasurable than eating something you grew," she said.

She's turned the backyard of her Springfield home into a small farm with a handful of hens, and a couple of dairy goats.

"I milk her every morning and I make cheese and stuff like that from it," said Searle.

The problem is, her property isn't zoned for livestock. So she's been cited by the city $250 a day for each animal. She wants the zoning ordinance changed. "I'm not the only underground urban goat or chicken farmer in Jacksonville. Let's just say that.
